CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Atlanta

Ted Ginn had another pair of touchdowns last week against the Giants, along with 85 yards on six receptions. Ginn now has multiple touchdowns in the last three games straight, and has seven total touchdowns in the last five weeks.

Ginn torched the Falcons last year for two long touchdown catches and 120 yards on the day. However, Ginn drops the ball a lot and he’s disappeared in some games this season. Even against the Falcons, those two touchdown bombs were his only catches on the day. Ginn’s production is hard to ignore right now, and he has the potential to put up big numbers any time he steps on the field, but he’s still a boom/bust kind of guy, which makes him a WR3 type in most fantasy leagues. Use him at your own risk.

CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. New York Giants

Ted Ginn had only two catches last week against the Falcons, but he made them count. He had a 74 yard touchdown early in the game, and then followed it up with another long touchdown, this time from 46 yards. Ginn has now had two straight weeks with two touchdown games, and has quietly found the end zone eight times this year.

This week, Ginn will face a Giants pass defense that ranks dead last in the league in yards allowed. Ginn’s production is hard to count on, since he’s had some terrible games to go with his big time outings, but if you need a Hail Mary this week during the playoffs due to injuries or something, Ginn could be a nice gamble. He’s always a threat to go the distance, and we have him ranked in WR3 territory this week with such a great matchup.

CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Atlanta

Ted Ginn had some drops last week against the Saints, but he also managed to catch five of the passes that were thrown his way for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns in what turned out to be a shootout. Ginn has erupted for some big performances this season, but also struggles with consistency at times.

This week, he faces a tougher task against the Falcons pass defense. Atlanta has allowed only 14 passing touchdowns all season to opposing offenses, tied for fourth in the league. Ginn will be blanketed by the Falcons secondary as the only legit deep option for Carolina, and it’s unlikely he has a repeat of last week’s performance. He always has upside, but his lack of consistency make him a guy best left on the bench in most leagues.

CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. New Orleans

Ted Ginn wasn’t targeted at all against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, but he should retain his role in the offense as a deep threat on the outside. The Panthers beat Dallas with great defense and efficient offense and didn’t yield a lot of passing yards on the day. This week, Ginn will face a vulnerable Saints pass defense, but he’s still unlikely to put up big numbers. The Panthers have been a run-first offense this year, and Ginn’s hands have been too inconsistent to count on him. He’s always a threat to break a long one, but it doesn’t happen enough to warrant real fantasy consideration.

CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Dallas

Ted Ginn tied for the team lead in targets again last week with eight, catching five of the passes thrown his way for 37 yards and a touchdown. It definitely wasn’t the kind of yardage total you hope to see from the speedy Ginn on five receptions, but the touchdown was nice to see.

This week, Ginn faces a Dallas defense that has allowed the fourth-least passing touchdowns in the league this season. Ginn is a difficult fantasy receiver to trust anyway due to his inconsistent production, but on Thanksgiving against Dallas, he has a little extra risk with a tough matchup. Ginn should be considered a low-end WR3 at best in most leagues and is likely best kept on the bench.

CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Washington

Ted Ginn was targeted eight times last week against the Titans and wound up with four catches and 45 yards on the day. Ginn remains the most productive receiver for the Panthers, despite being ill suited to be a true WR1.

Ginn faces a slightly above average Washington pass defense this week and he should continue to be used as the primary outside receiving threat for the Panthers. That being said, Carolina tends to rely on their star tight end Greg Olsen mostly in the passing game, and Ginn’s inconsistent catch percentage makes him a risky start in a run-based Carolina offense. He’s always a threat for a deep touchdown, but Ginn should most likely be considered a low-end WR3 kind of option in most leagues.

CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tennessee
Ted Ginn was only targeted four times last week in a victory over the Green Bay Packers. He wound up with just 20 yards on one reception and the Panthers seem to be making an effort to get their other pass catchers more involved. Against the Titans this week, Ginn remains a deep threat in any game, but that kind of production is too inconsistent to count on. He remains a desperation play in most leagues, and should likely remain on the bench.

CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 9, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Green Bay

Ted Ginn was targeted ten times last week against the Colts, but he only managed to catch two of the passes thrown his way. He wound up with 60 yards, including a 48-yard reception, but it’s hard not to see missed opportunities when so many passes went his way.

This week, Ginn will face a Packers defense that has given up yards this season, but not a lot of touchdowns. The Packers have also forced nine interceptions this year, which should make for an up-and-down day for the Panther passing game. Ginn should continue to get targets, making him fantasy viable, but his consistency isn’t good enough to make him more than a low-end WR3 option in most leagues.

CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Indianapolis

Ted Ginn made some errors last week against the Eagles, but he was also targeted a team-high eight times, catching five passes for 59 yards on the day. He added to his totals with a 43-yard run, which was one of the best plays of the game.

This week, Ginn gets to face a vulnerable Colts pass defense that has given up the third-most yards to opposing passing offenses this season. Ginn and the Panthers passing game haven’t been very reliable this season, so he’s risky. But if you have a desperate need at the WR position this week, Ginn has some sleeper upside in large leagues as a WR3.

Friday, October 30, 2015 - 9:27am
CAR WR Ted Ginn - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Philadelphia
Ted Ginn only caught just one of the four passes thrown his way last week against the Seahawks and ended the day with 18 yards. Ginn remains a deep threat and has been arguably the most consistent player in the Panthers receiving corps this year, but the passing game is mostly dominated by the tight end position in Carolina, and Ginn is still a bit of a one trick pony. He’s a borderline roster guy right now and while he always has the potential to put up good numbers off a long bomb for a touchdown, he’s too risky to start, regardless of the matchup.
