Week 11 vs. Buffalo Bills
After his big game, Mike Gesicki followed up with a 3-28 performance in Week 10. He did see six targets for the second straight week, but his ceiling only goes up so high in this offense. He still hasn't caught a touchdown all season, making him an unreliable option for fantasy.
Week 10 at Indianapolis Colts
Mike Gesicki has suddenly emerged as an interesting fantasy option. He led Miami in receiving last week, finishing with 91 yards on six receptions (six targets). He's averaged about 50 receiving yards in his last four games, which isn't terrible considering the production we've seen from this position in 2019. Still, Gesicki has finished half of his games (eight) with two receptions or less and hasn't caught a touchdown all season. He's not a strong TE play, but could be a decent bye week filler.
Week 9 vs. New York Jets
Mike Gesicki finished with just 10 yards last week on two receptions. He’s caught 15 passes so far this season for 153 yards and no touchdowns. He’s finished below 15 receiving yards in three of his last five games. He’s just not getting enough volume to warrant fantasy consideration.
Week 8 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Mike Gesicki has 13 receptions in six games this season. He's improved in recent weeks, finishing 3-51 and 4-41, respectively, but the game before that was a goose egg. He's just an unreliable option for fantasy and isn't a strong start this week against Pittsburgh.
Week 7 at Buffalo Bills
Mike Gesicki led Miami in receiving last week, finishing 3-51 on seven targets. But Gesicki hasn't been great this year as 54% of his receiving yards this season have come on two receptions. He's caught nine passes for 102 yards in five games. For comparison, Mark Andrew caught eight passes for 108 yards (and a touchdown) in the first game of the season. Gesicki isn't a good fantasy option.
Week 6 vs. Washington Redskins
Mike Gesicki has six receptions through four games while averaging just over 12 yards per game. Those numbers aren't attractive, and it means you can easily avoid Gesicki in fantasy this week.
Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Mike Gesicki caught three passes for nine yards in Week 3. He's caught six passes for 51 yards on the season. He does get a favorable matchup this week against the Chargers as L.A. has allowed the third-most fantasy points to the position in 2019. But until he has more production, he's really not worth consideration.
Week 3 at Dallas Cowboys
Mike Gesicki caught two passes for 31 yards in Week 1 and one pass for 11 yards in Week 2. He was a talented receiving threat in college, but it hasn't quite translated yet at the NFL level. Unless he turns things around, he's not worth anything in fantasy.
Week 2 vs. New England Patriots
Mike Gesicki caught two passes in Week 1, one for 26 yards and one for five yards. There are plenty of other tight ends in fantasy that offer more appeal than someone playing on perhaps the worst offense in the NFL. Gesicki might make a few big plays here and there, but he's a very risky fantasy option.
Week 1 vs. Baltimore Ravens
Mike Gesicki caught just 22 passes in 16 games last year. He'll have an increased role in 2019 as he enters the year at the team's starter, but until he actually does something, he's not worth looking at in fantasy. He's an athletic tight end with some promise, but he's going to need to do more than average 1.3 receptions per game.
