LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Seattle

Goff had a rough game last week against the New York Jets as he completed 23-of-34 passes for 209 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. In what should have been one of Goff’s better performances of the season against a porous Jets defense, Goff went full Jared “Goof” and could not lead consistent offensive drives which ultimately resulted in an embarrassing loss to the previous winless Jets.

Week 16 brings on the Seattle Seahawks who rank 20th in aFPA to QBs this season. Goff had his worst game of the season against Seattle during their Week 10 matchup where he threw 302 yards for zero touchdowns and one lost fumble. It will be hard to trust Goff with high stakes during championship week, however, if you must, he’ll be a low-end QB2 this week.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs New York Jets

Goff had a solid game last week against the New England Patriots as he completed 16-of-25 passes for 137, one touchdown and one interception while also posting 11 rushing yards for one score. This was a game where Goff’s services weren’t necessarily required as rookie Cam Akers broke out and ran wild as he accounted for 194 total scrimmage yards.

Goff has an excellent matchup this week and the New York Jets are ranked last in aFPA to QBs this season. Goff hasn’t been great this season, but his weapons coupled with this excellent matchup make him an enticing low-end QB1 in Week 15.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs New England

Goff rebounded nicely last from his disastrous Week 12 as he completed 37-of-47 passes for 351 yards, one touchdown, and also had one rushing touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals. This was one of Goff’s better passing performances of the season however, his fantasy managers must be disappointed that more touchdowns did not accompany all those passing attempts and yards.

Week 14 brings on a Thursday night showdown against the New England Patriots who are the top-rated team in aFPA to QBs this season. The Patriots’ unrelenting pressure and coverage have been trouble for QBs all season and there was no better example of this than last week as New England shutout the Los Angeles Chargers and limited QB Justin Herbert to 209 passing yards and two interceptions. This will be Goff’s most difficult challenge of the season and in the first round of the fantasy playoffs no less. Goff ranks as a low-end QB2 in this one.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

strong>Week 13 at Arizona

Goff had by far his worst game of the season last week against San Francisco, as he completed 19-of-31 passes for 198 yards, two interceptions, and two fumbles. Yikes, what a nightmare scenario for fantasy managers counting on Goff for a late-season playoff push. Goff has not been particularly good this season, and in his last four games, he has been downright unusable in fantasy. During this stretch, he has a total of four touchdowns, with three of those scores in Week 11 against Tampa Bay, and has a total of 10 turnovers (six interceptions, four lost fumbles).

Week 13 brings a solid matchup for Goff as the Arizona Cardinals rank 22nd in aFPA to QBs this season. There really is nowhere but up for Goff as he should put up respectable numbers in this contest. At any rate, keep Goff firmly as a QB2 in this one.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

strong>Week 12 vs San Francisco

Goff had a solid performance last week against the Bucs as he completed 39-of-51 passes for 346 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. In a close matchup on Monday Night Football, Goff aired it out all game which led to this third-consecutive 300-yard game and his fifth overall of the season. Front a fantasy standpoint, Goff needs more games like these to propel into regular QB1 status, however, for what he occasionally lacks in scores, he adds (much like this game) in turnovers—thus hurting his chances.

Week 12 brings division rival San Francisco who are ranked 11th in aFPA to QBs this season. In his Week 6 game against the Niners, Goff had a low-end QB2 game as he threw for 198 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The passing game has grown since that time, however, so Goff will be worth a look as a high-end QB2 in this one.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Tampa Bay

Goff had his second scoreless game of the season last week against Seattle as he completed 27-of-37 passes for 302 yards and no touchdowns. Even though Goff didn’t have an interception, he still managed to turn the ball over on a fumble, bringing his fumble total to five this season. Goff had an okay game, but the lack of scores really didn’t make him a viable option against an otherwise great matchup.

Week 11 sees Goff take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are ranked 8th in aFPA to QBs this season. With an offensive line set to go on without their best player in Andrew Whitworth, Goff will be in for a difficult game. Keep Goff as a QB2 in this one.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Seattle

Before heading the bye last week, Goff finished Week 8 against Miami with a season-high in passing attempts as he completed 35-of-61 passes for 355 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. In comeback mode early against the Dolphins, Goff threw the ball a lot but still wasn’t able to make much happen. For the season, he’s been mostly unspectacular, however, he’ll have an opportunity in Week 10 against division rival Seattle to have a blow-up game.

With the Seahawks ranked last in aFPA against QBs this season, Goff has the potential to have his biggest game of the season. With all of his weapons healthy in this one, Goff has some serious low-end QB1 appeal.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Miami

Goff finished last week against the Bears with 23-of-33 passing for 219 yards and two touchdowns in what was yet another serviceable performance. Goff hasn’t had a bad year, but this average level of production as left him as a QB steamer in standard leagues and a QB2 in Superflex and two-QB leagues. With the Rams looking to get all WRs involved as well as running the ball with all RBs, his ability to produce high-end games is extremely limited.

Goff will have his work cut out for him against the Dolphins as Miami is ranked 7th in aFPA is QBs this season. Goff will once again settle in as a QB2 in this one.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Chicago

Goff had one of his worst fantasy games of the season last week against San Francisco, as he threw the ball on 19-of-38 completions as well as two touchdowns, one interception and a season-low 198 passing yards. Goff did not look great in this one, but he also has not looked great throughout this season. Given the state of this Rams offense, Goff has settled into an every-week streamer as he is shown he does not have much of a ceiling.

Goff will be difficult to trust this week as he will be taking on the Chicago Bears and the fourth-ranked aFPA defense to QBs. With the Los Angeles offensive line always in question, Goff will be under heavy pressure all game long, possibly leading to a turnover-heavy game for Goff. We have Goff ranked 21st among QBs this week as he projects to be a low-end QB2 in this game.

LAR QB Jared Goff - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at San Francisco

Goff had another serviceable fantasy game last week against Washington as he completed 21-of-30 passes and threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns as well as one interception. Goff also ran for a two-yard touchdown on a busted play where none of the defenders had their eye on the QB. The Rams offense is growing in its play-calling diversity as the team ran the ball 35 times with their three healthy running backs—something that freed up passing lanes for Goff.

Goff’s Week 6 matchup against San Francisco is one that will see him take on a defense ranked 20th in aFPA to QBs this season. In fact, the Niners are fresh off a blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins where QB Ryan Fitzpatrick dropped 350 yards and three touchdowns while completing 79% of his passes. Goff makes for a solid QB2 in this one with low-end QB1 potential.
