Week 14 vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Jaguars gave Jared Goff a chance to get himself back on track after what's been a very inconsistent season, which is pretty typical for Goff. He threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns, his third multi-touchdown game in the last five weeks. That should give him confidence heading to a meeting with the Vikings, a team Goff had 277 yards and a touchdown against in Week 3. And the offense is about as healthy as it's been all season. Goff and the Lions may surprise this week and he is a sleeper top option this week and could be a very good DFS option.
Week 13 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Jared Goff threw multiple touchdown passes for just the second time since Detroit's Week 6 bye. But he's at least taking care of the football. He has just one interception in his last five games and after throwing at least one in five of his first six games. He could be getting rookie Jameson Williams soon, but for now, Goff's outlook is average for fantasy purposes. He's a QB2 this week against the Jaguars, who should have some confidence after beating the Ravens last week.
Week 12 vs. Buffalo Bills
Jared Goff had about as bad of a fantasy performance as you could ask for, especially for a team that won on the road. Sure, the conditions weren’t favorable, but the numbers continue to be poor for Goff. He has just four touchdown passes in his last six games and goes up against Buffalo on a short week. Goff is a low-end QB2 and probably someone you’re staying away from this week on a short week.
Week 11 at New York Giants
Jared Goff threw his highest total (236) since Week 4 last week against the Bears. Still, he only threw one touchdown, keeping him at just four multi-touchdown games and now he goes into the Meadowlands to take on the Giants, who have a knack for rattling quarterbacks but only rank 23rd in Pass DVOA. That should at least help make Goff a middling QB2 this week.
Week 10 at Chicago Bears
Jared Goff posted his first multi-touchdown game since Week 4 when the threw 2 touchdowns last week against the Packers, yet threw for a season-low 137 yards. With D'Andre Swift back, the Lions will focus on getting those two going and may not need to rely on Goff as much, especially against a weak rushing defense in Chicago and one that no longer has Roquan Smith. Goff is a QB2 this week.
Week 9 vs. Green Bay Packers
Jared Goff has his first solid fantasy day since Week 4, hitting 300 yards and throwing a touchdown for the first time in three games against the Dolphins in a game where the Lions couldn't hold an early 14-0 lead. This week, it's a showdown with the Packers, who ranks 17th against the pass but are allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Goff is a solid QB2 this week at home.
Week 8 vs. Miami Dolphins
Jared Goff came back from the bye and wasn't terrible in the fact that he completed 21 of his 26 passes against the Cowboys. But for the second straight game, Goff didn't throw a touchdown and, in fact, had four turnovers (two interceptions, two fumbles). This week could be a good bounce-back opportunity for Goff as Miami ranks toward the bottom of the league in pass defense and are allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. If there's a time to get Goff going again, it's this week. He's a QB2 and a solid streaming option for Week 8.
Week 7 at Dallas Cowboys
Jared Goff and the Lions are coming off their bye week and their worst offensive performance of the season after being shutout by the Patriots in Week 5. Goff went just 19/35 for 229 yards and an interception. It doesn't get much easier as he'll have potential Defensive Player of the Year Micah Parsons breathing down his neck this week in Big D. Goff has gone from a borderline QB1 to a borderline QB2 against a strong Cowboys defense. He's a tough start this week.
Week 5 at New England Patriots
Who had the Detroit Lions as the No. 1 scoring offense through four weeks on their bingo card? Jared Goff has been a huge reason for that. He's already up to 11 touchdown passes this season, including two games with four scores. No one is expecting a shootout in New England like the one last week with the Seahawks. The Patriots, however, are a pretty favorable matchup for Goff and the Lions (No. 20 on our matchup rankings, with No. 1 being the toughest). Goff is a borderline QB1 this week.
Week 4 vs. Seattle Seahawks
Jared Goff has directed the Lions offense fairly well through three weeks and has climbed up to low-end QB1 territory, especially in Week 4 against the Seahawks, a team that ranks 27th in our QB matchup rankings and 31st in passing DVOA. Goff was quiet in the second half against Minnesota but should get the engine revving again this week. He's worth a start across the board.
