Week 15 at Oakland Raiders
Dak Prescott had his best game since the Ezekiel Elliot suspension went into effect last week against division rival New York. He threw for 332 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He now has thrown 5 touchdowns and 0 picks over the past two games.
The Cowboys travel to Oakland to play the Raiders who are ranked 24th in aFPA to quarterbacks. With a favorable matchup and better numbers the past two weeks, we like Prescott's fantasy outlook in Week 15. Start him as a solid QB1 against Oakland.
Week 14 at New York Giants
When you complete only 50% of your passes and throw for 102 yards, you would think it was a bad day. Dak Prescott put up those numbers, but his team still won by 24 points and he threw 2 touchdowns to help the fantasy side. It's been hard to predict Prescott since Ezekiel Elliott's suspension started, but for the most part, it hasn't been very good.
Prescott will face a Giants defense this week ranked 26th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Even with this great matchup, there is still some doubts about what Prescott brings to the table. He had been nursing a bad hand, but he says that is fully healed.
Keep Prescott on the bench as a high-end QB2 on the road against the Giants.
Week 13 vs. Washington Redskins
Dak Prescott completed 74% of his passes but threw for only 179 yards. It was his third straight game with less than 200 yards [passing and zero touchdowns. He also has thrown five interceptions in the past two games. It hasn't been pretty for the Cowboys offense and Ezekiel Elliot will not be back this week.
The Cowboys face rival Washington who is 13th in aFPA to quarterbacks. In the first meeting this season, Prescott was held to 143 yards passing and threw no touchdowns.
Prescott has not looked good and we don't expect it to get any better until Elliot returns. Sit Prescott for Week 13 as a high-end QB2.
Week 12 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
It couldn't go much worse on Sunday night for Dak Prescott—only 145 passing yards and 0 touchdowns produced. And don't forget the 3 interceptions. Was his poor showing related to the absence of Ezekiel Elliott? Or maybe it was because of left tackle Tyron Smith's absence? Whatever the reason, Prescott has had two poor performances in a row now.
Thanksgiving Day won't get any easier as the Chargers come to town—they are ranked third in aFPA to quarterbacks. The sample size is small, but you have to think Elliott's suspension is a major factor at this point.
For Week 12, Prescott rates as a low-end QB1, so he still should be in your starting lineup, but you should be concerned over the next four weeks.
Week 11 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The world got a glimpse at what the Cowboys look like with Ezekiel Elliott and it wasn't pretty for the Dallas offense. Dak Prescott's numbers weren't terrible but he only threw for 176 yards and did not throw a touchdown pass for the second time in three games. Prescott ran for another touchdown which was his fourth in the past five games and that seems to keep him ranked as a quality quarterback.
Prescott faces Philadelphia, who is ranked 17th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Even though he has struggled in the passing game at times, the rushing touchdowns help make him a viable play for Week 11. Start Prescott as a solid QB1 against the Eagles on Sunday night.
Week 10 at Atlanta Falcons
Dak Prescott got one more week of RB Ezekiel Elliott last week and produced a nice bounce back game. He threw for 249 yards and 2 touchdowns while running for another. It remains to be seen how Elliott's absence will impact the Cowboys. The may ask Prescott to do more which could elevate his numbers or opposing defenses could limit him because of the lack of the threat of Elliott in the lineup.
Prescott faces the Falcons who have an average pass defense. There will be opportunities for him and he should put up good numbers on the road. Start Prescott as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 10 but keep an eye on how Elliott's absence impacts the Cowboys offense.
Week 9 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Dak Prescott had his worst fantasy game of the season although he didn't play bad and his team won. The rainy weather affected the passing game which saw Prescott throw for 143 yards and zero touchdowns. It was the first game this season he did not throw a touchdown pass.
The Cowboys face the Chiefs who are 15th in aFPA to quarterbacks. We expect Prescott's numbers to bounce back this week. Start Prescott as a top 5 fantasy quarterback option for Week 9. With RB Ezekiel Elliot getting another week to play, this will help Prescott.
Week 8 at Washington
Another strong fantasy performance for Dak Prescott as he accounted for 4 touchdowns (3 through the air; 1 on the ground) and threw for a solid 234 yards on only 25 pass attempts. He has thrown 3 touchdowns in each of his last three games. Prescott has been outstanding and has elevated himself to a consistent QB1 this season.
He will now face Washington, who is ranked 16th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Against Washington in his rookie season, Prescott only threw for 1 touchdown in two meetings, although, he did score 2 touchdowns on the ground. But with the way he has been playing, we expect him to keep putting up very favorable numbers.
Start Prescott in all leagues and formats as a top-five fantasy QB for Week 8.
Week 7 at San Francisco 49ers
The Cowboys are coming off a much-needed bye. With three losses in their last four games, Dallas hopes to get back on track. Dak Prescott as not been one of the problems. He has an 8-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio over the last three game. Although he doesn't have a 300-yard passing game this season, he has been consistent throwing the football.
Prescott will face a Niners defense ranked 24th in aFPA to quarterbacks. With that matchup coming off a bye week and the way he has played, expect a big game for Prescott. Start him in all leagues and formats as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 7.
Week 5 vs. Green Bay Packers
The numbers continue to be strong for Dak Prescott, who threw for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns last week. His completion percentage dropped a bit to 55% and he did throw his third interception of the season, but his numbers, on the whole, have been very consistent.
Prescott will face a Green Bay defense this week that's ranked seventh in aFPA to quarterbacks, so it won't be easy for Prescott. But he has done well against good defenses in his short career and has also been very good at home.
Start Prescott as a top-5 fantasy quarterback for Week 5 in all leagues and formats.
