DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at New York Giants
Despite a huge win for the Cowboys last week, Dak Prescott had average numbers throwing for 239 yards and one touchdown. He also added a pick. But Dallas was able to find other ways to score so even though it was a team victory, Prescott's owners were a little disappointed.

The Giants are up next and are ranked 23rd in aFPA to quarterbacks. In the season opener in Dallas, Prescott threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns and that was without the full service of Ezekiel Elliot.

Start Prescott in all leagues in formats as one of the top fantasy quarterbacks in Week 9. It won't be a repeat of Week 1, but still a good outing.

DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Philadelphia
The Cowboys lost their third straight game and Dak Prescott and the offense have not looked right. Prescott did complete 70% of his passes for 278 yards but zero touchdowns. He has only thrown two touchdown passes during the losing streak.

Prescott will face the Eagles on Sunday night. He threw the ball 90 times in the two meetings against Philadelphia last season and ended up with 728 yards. Philly is ranked 25th in aFPA to quarterbacks so this could be the game where the Dallas offense gets right.

Start Prescott in all leagues and formats as a low-end QB1 for Week 7. The offensive line is still banged up but the numbers should be better.

DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Jets
Dak Prescott threw for 463 yards last week against the Packers, but that's not a good thing. The Cowboys were playing catch-up all game and although he threw two touchdown passes, he also threw three interceptions. It was the second game that the Dallas passing game was not sharp and they resulted in a second straight loss.

Prescott will face the Jets this Sunday who are 14th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Don't let the past two games diminish what Prescott is capable of. We expect a bounce-back game against a Jets team that has struggled overall.

Start Prescott as a QB1 in all leagues and formats for Week 6. He needs to cut down the turnovers and then he should be fine.

DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Green Bay
Dak Prescott had his worst fantasy game of the season last week. He completed 67% of his passes but for only a season-low 223 yards and was held without a touchdown pass for the first time this season. Prescott was limited in what he could do on Sunday but we don't think this is going to be a trend.

Prescott has a tough matchup on Sunday against the Packers who are 8th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Green Bay has been bad against the run so expect the game plan for Dallas to revolve around that.

Prescott is still a solid QB1 for Week 5. We expect a bounce-back game from him and a very good offensive day from the Cowboys.

DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at New Orleans
Dak Prescott took a step back with his numbers last week, mainly because he only completed 59% of his passes. He threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw his second interception of the season.

Prescott has a great matchup this Sunday against the Saints who are dead last in aFPA to quarterbacks Prescott seems to thrive in the spotlight and this is the national game on Sunday night.

Start Prescott as a top 5 fantasy quarterback for Week 4. He should put up much better numbers than last week and we expect him to give your fantasy team a big boost.

DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Miami
Dak Prescott is earning that $30 million per year contract he wants. Another strong outing which included 69 yards rushing. He completed 87% of his passes and threw three touchdown passes. However, he did throw his first interception of the season.

Prescott will face a Miami defense that was torched the first two weeks of the season, were ranked 31st in aFPA to quarterbacks in 2018. Expect the Cowboys to have a field day with the worst team in the NFL.

Start Prescott in all leagues and formats as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 3.

DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Washington
It was a great start for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys passing game. He threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns in Dallas' win. And he looked good doing it completing 78% of his passes without a turnover.

Prescott will hit the road and play a Washington defense that he has had success against. He is 5-1 and has completed 66% of his passes while throwing six touchdowns without a pick against the Redskins during his career. Washington is 13th in aFPA to quarterbacks after the first week.

Prescott is a QB1 for Week 2 and although he might not replicate what he did last week, he will be good for about 270 passing yards and a couple of touchdown passes.

Friday, September 13, 2019 - 12:25pm
DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs New York Giants
Dak Prescott is probably happy for Ezekiel Elliot and also relieved to get his best offensive weapon back for the opener. Prescott is coming off an impressive season where he threw for 3,885 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also cut his interceptions back from 13 the previous season to eight.

Dallas opens at home against division rival New York. The Cowboys won both games but Prescott had mixed results with 160 yards in the early meeting Week 2 and exploded Week 17 throwing for 387 yards and four touchdowns. Remember, he didn't have Amari Cooper for the first game. He has overall been decent against the Giants, throwing for 10 touchdowns total and only two picks.

For Week 1, Prescott rates a high-end QB2. If he is your No. 1 guy, he should give you decent numbers. Expect around 250 passing yards and two touchdowns. Even though Elliot is playing, he will have to get up to speed and that could limit the Cowboys offense slightly.

DAL QB Dak Prescott - 2019 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
After a dip in his numbers during his second season, Dak Prescott put up even better numbers than his rookie season. He raised his completion percentage up to 67% and his yardage to a career-high 3,885 yards. His passing touchdowns stayed the same but interceptions dropped from 13 to eight. The biggest thing about Prescott is that he wins and although that isn’t a fantasy stat, it does secure him as the QB in Big D for years to come. Last year, the Cowboys helped him by getting him a No. 1 wide receiver in Amari Cooper who he will have for a full season in 2019.

Fantasy Downside
Prescott wants a new contract and if the Cowboys don’t give it to him, it could be a distraction. There were also some issues with the offensive line as he was sacked 56 times in 2018 which is only one less than the previous two years combined. So, even though he has not missed a start in his three-year career, those hits could catch up with him.

2019 Bottom Line
Prescott isn’t an elite quarterback and he will enter 2019 ranked a high-end QB2. So, if you are taking him as your starting fantasy quarterback, it will be risky. Still, Prescott is entering the prime of his career and with Jason Witten returning and a full season of Cooper, his passing yardage should be close to the 4,000-yard mark with 25 touchdowns. The hope is he gets sacked less and Cowboys will probably tell him to be even more conservative in the running game where he has averaged 312 yards per season.

DAL QB Dak Prescott - Week 19 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 19 at Los Angeles Rams

Dak Prescott had another efficient game for the Cowboys although not anything special for fantasy. He did throw a touchdown pass and ran for another. He did complete 2/3 of his passes and helped the Cowboys to a playoff win.

Prescott has a good matchup in Los Angeles. The Rams were 23rd in aFPA to quarterbacks this season. But LA also was not good against the run and that's where the Cowboys will focus their offense. Keep Prescott on the bench for Week 19 as he ranks in the lower tier of playoff QBs.
