WAS RB Jaret Patterson - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Jaret Patterson saw some extended playing time last week in a blowout game. He played a season-high 25% of the offensive snaps while carrying the ball nine times for 33 yards with no targets. Patterson should see even more extended playing time this week as he'll fill in for Antonio Gibson (COVID/hip) who has already been ruled as OUT. With Gibson unable to go, look for Patterson to get most of the carries while Jonathan Williams has more of a receiving role. Patterson will end up being more of an RB3 or flex option this week against the Eagles. It's a decent matchup as the Eagles have given up the 10th-most average fantasy points to running backs. But a lot of that is because Philly has given up the 3rd-most receptions to RBs. And Patterson has never seen more than one target in a game, so we wouldn't expect Washington to lean on him as a receiver.

WAS RB Jaret Patterson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Dallas Cowboys

Jaret Patterson could end up being a strong spot start this week if Antonio Gibson (toe) is unable to play. Washington is playing on a shortened week, and Gibson was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday. If Gibson is unable to go, Patterson will be the next man up. Patterson has looked good at times this year, even scoring a touchdown last week. Unfortunately, it's a tough matchup against the Cowboys this week as Dallas has given up the seventh-fewest average fantasy points to running backs. Patterson would be an RB2 if Gibson is inactive. If Gibson plays, we don't see Patterson getting enough touches to trust starting him in Week 16.

WAS RB Jaret Patterson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Las Vegas Raiders

Jaret Patterson has seen some playing time throughout the year, and could get some more work now following the injury to J.D. McKissic. The only issue is McKissic is a receiving specialist, and Patterson has been used more to spell Gibson this year when Gibson was dealing with injuries. Patterson may get more playing time, but we wouldn't expect him to fill the void McKissic left. As of now, he can be ignored in fantasy.
