SD RB Ronnie Hillman - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Kansas City
With Kenneth Farrow now on IR, it looks as if Ronnie Hillman will be the team's lead back in Week 17. Last week, Hillman ran nine times for just six yards in what was supposed to be a good matchup against the Browns.

This week, Hillman comes in as a low-end RB2 option, as he should be in store for a pretty solid volume of work. The Chiefs are 11th in allowing fantasy points to RBs, so this isn't a great matchup. While the Chiefs are still playing for seeding purposes, keep in mind Hillman is probably playing for a chance at a job somewhere next year. It's been a bit of a hard fall from last year's success in Denver.

MIN RB Ronnie Hillman - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Arizona
Ronnie Hillman isn't getting the majority of carries, and Jerick McKinnon appears to have the receiving back role to himself. So that leaves Ronnie Hillman with scraps, which isn't great for fantasy purposes. Hillman should be off the fantasy radar this week.

MIN RB Ronnie Hillman - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Washington
Ronnie Hillman finished with 62 total yards last week as he now has entered the mix in the Vikings' backfield. Hillman joins Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon, as all three will take touches away from one another. Hillman is an RB4 at best, which likely means he's off the fantasy radar.

DEN RB Ronnie Hillman - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Last season, Ronnie Hillman led the team with 207 carries, 863 rushing yards and seven TDs on the ground and also caught 24 passes for 111 yards. He has looked more comfortable in the run-oriented offense than he did last year, hitting the holes with more quickness. If he doesn’t wind up keeping a roster spot with the Broncos, Ronnie has a near minimum salary, so he will likely end up somewhere.

Fantasy Downside
Despite having the most experience with the Broncos, his time with the team is very much in jeopardy. Rookie Davontae Booker has looked great in camp and the preseason and the team also has Kapri Bibbs, Juwan Thompson and Andy Janovich, a fullback, who will likely be part of the backfield.

Bottom Line
It’ll be interesting to see who Coach Gary Kubiak and his staff keeps at RB, but, even if Hillman is still wearing No. 23 in Denver, his playing time will definitely diminish, despite a run-oriented offense. Hillman is not worth a roster spot to start your fantasy season, regardless which team’s uniform he’s wearing.

DEN RB Ronnie Hillman - Week 21, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Super Bowl vs. Carolina
It’s been a tough playoffs so far for Ronnie Hillman, as he was held to just 16 yards on 11 carries versus New England in the AFC Championship game. C.J. Anderson has fared better in the past two games; Ronnie has totaled only 54 yards on 27 post-season rushing attempts, compared to Anderson’s 144 yards on 31 carries. Carolina’s run defense allowed just 88 yards per game during the regular season, so it could be another long evening for Hillman and the Broncos ground game.

DEN RB Ronnie Hillman - Week 20, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

AFC Championship vs. New England
In the win over Pittsburgh last week, Ronnie Hillman was limited to 38 yards on 16 carries. C.J. Anderson received 15 rush attempts, but was more effective – finishing with 72 yards on the ground and also 11 receiving yards. Anderson also scored Denver’s lone touchdown of the day. In Week 12 against New England, Ronnie ran for 59 yards and a score and the Broncos will need a better performance than last Sunday out of Hillman if they are to advance to the Super Bowl.

DEN RB Ronnie Hillman - Week 19, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 19 vs Pittsburgh
In the regular season finale two weeks ago, Ronnie Hillman led the Denver ground game with 117 yards on 15 carries. It was his fourth 100-yard game of the season and Ronnie scored his seventh TD versus the Chargers. He and C.J. Anderson will continue to split carries against the No. 5 rush defense during the regular season. At Pittsburgh in Week 15, Hillman totaled 48 yards on 14 carries.
