According to Field Yates on Twitter, the San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Kevin White.
With the San Francisco 49ers dealing with a rash of injuries at the wide receiver position, the team has decided to kick the tires former first round pick Kevin White. White has been a massive disappointment since entering the league, and may have a tough time making the final roster after joining the team so late in camp. He is an intriguing flier for the 49ers, but remains off the fantasy radar until further notice. Receiver Jaron Brown was released in a corresponding move.
Kliff Kingsbury hasn’t divulged exactly how he plans to utilize his pass catchers, but he’s said he wants to move Larry Fitzgerald around to keep defenses honest and that Christian Kirk will play a key role because of his talents and how well he knows the offense.
Beyond that, it remains to be seen what type of roles the rookies will play, although they all figure to get a chance to play a lot.
According to Kingsbury, it starts with Fitzgerald, who quickly developed a strong chemistry with Kyler Murray during offseason workouts, the story said. Fitz is expected to be used as a security blanket.
