Buccaneers WR Adam Humphries (concussion, out) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week and is out for Week 14. Humphries’ status is important for Russell Shepard, who could see a lot of work in a nice matchup with Humphries out. Shepard played 77% of the snaps last week but only saw two targets. He had back-to-back productive weeks when he posted 5-77-1 on six targets against the 49ers in Week 7 before finding the endzone again (2-24-1 on three targets) against the Raiders in the following week. The Bucs also promoted Josh Huff this week.
Continuing a troubling trend that is ripping through the Philadelphia Eagles' locker room, wide receiver Josh Huff was arrested on the Walt Whitman Bridge on Tuesday and charged with speeding and possession of marijuana, according to CBS Philly, which cited sources.
CBS reported Huff was in possession of a gun, though it was unclear if the gun was registered or if Huff has a permit.
The Eagles released a statement: "We are aware of the incident today involving Josh Huff. At this point, we are gathering more information."
Huff isn't one of the team's top WRs but does have a 98-yard kick return for a TD this season.
Paul Turner has been the Eagles’ second-best wide receiver this preseason, the best if you consider that Jordan Matthews has been out a couple weeks. Turner has done what you hoped Nelson Agholor and Josh Huff would do. Make plays. Flash. His highlight-reel one-hander from Chase Daniel for 23 yards to set up a touchdown in the third quarter is the kind of play we’ve been waiting to see Agholor make. Turner is an undrafted rookie free agent from Louisiana Tech, and Agholor is a second-year first-round pick, but Turner is flashing in a way that Agholor hasn’t. This team is desperate for wide receivers. So far, one guy is making plays. Not only does Turner deserve to make the team, he’s quickly showing that he deserves to play.
Turner may be worth a look late in drafts. The Eagles are hurting at receiver and the new regime isn't going to show favoritism to Agholor if someone else is outplaying him.
