Signs point to Joseph Addai missing Week 6

The Colts haven’t yet indicated whether Joseph Addai, who hurt his hamstring in the first quarter of the Colts’ loss to Kansas City on Sunday, will be available, but the team activated Darren Evans from the practice squad Tuesday. The Colts play the Bengals on Sunday in Cincinnati.

Evans is an undrafted free agent from Virginia Tech who was was Mr. Indiana Football in 2006.

Fantasy Impact:

The activation of Evans is a sign that Addai will be out this week. Delone Carter figures to get most of the work, but Donald Brown will get some reps as well.

We don’t know yet if RB Joseph Addai is going to be out after injuring his right hamstring Sunday against Kansas City. But as if this season hasn’t been discouraging enough, Caldwell mentions Donald Brown as an alternative, along with rookie RB Delone Carter.

“Depending upon what happens with Joe,” the coach said of Brown, the disappointing 2009 first-round selection, “his role could become a bit more intense these next couple weeks.”

Late in the first quarter, the Indianapolis Colts' veteran running back headed around the left side. Before the Kansas City Chiefs defense could converge, Joseph Addai seemed to pull up slightly.

He had injured his right hamstring. He pumped his fists in disgust.

"Sometimes you feel it tear," Addai said as he exited the locker room following the Colts' 28-24 loss Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. "This was a little grab.

"Really won't know till we get the scan (today)."
