Browns Jason Campbell will be starting QB this week.

Fantasy Impact: 

Campbell deserves another shot after giving the undefeated Chiefs a run for the money. Campbell and the offense started off slow, but a got a lift from a long TD to Josh Gordon. The Browns said Monday they wanted to learn more about Brandon Weeden to start the season, but Weeden has now been replaced by essentially two QB3s on the Browns this year.

The Browns have benched QB Brandon Weeden in favor of Jason Campbell.

Fantasy Impact: 

The move is not surprising since Weeden had already lost his job (to injury and the solid play of Brian Hoyer) earlier in the season. Jason Campbell is no savior, but he does have a higher career YPA (6.7 to Weeden's 6.4) and has a lot of experience. This doesn't look like a downgrade for Josh Gordon or Jordan Cameron, but it's another change at QB so those players do carry a bit more risk in the short term.

There's a "90% chance'' the Browns will start quarterback Brandon Weeden Sunday against the 7-0 Chiefs, but he's "on a short leash,'' a league source told cleveland.com Tuesday.

The source said some in the Browns' organization have grown weary of Weeden's ineffectiveness, and that they won't hesitate to play Jason Campbell if he continues to struggle.

In Kansas City, Weeden will face a relentless defense that's No. 1 in the NFL with 35 sacks -- 10 more than the No. 2 team, Baltimore. They're also first with 64 passes defensed and tied for third with 10 interceptions. They're first with nine fumble recoveries.

Coach Rob Chudzinski said his staff would meet on Monday to decide whether or not to bench Weeden, who dropped to 0-4 with his 31-13 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: 

Weeden may not make it out of the Chiefs game if he's on a short leash. Jason Campbell probably isn't much better of a fantasy option, which is a shame because potential fantasy starters Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron take the biggest hit in value.

It might be two flips and out for embattled Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden.

Coach Rob Chudzinski admitted Monday that the Browns are considering benching Weeden, who punctuated each of his last two losses with panicked, backhanded or underhanded flips to Chris Ogbonnaya. One was picked off and the other nearly was.

They were the poster-passes for Weeden's back-to-back poor outings, which may have earned a look at backup Jason Campbell Sunday against the 7-0 Chiefs. Asked if he was considering sitting Weeden down, Chudzinski said, "Yeah, at all positions we're considering it and looking at that, that's typically what we do every week."

Fantasy Impact: 

Last week, after the loss to Detroit, Chudzinski came out right away in his Monday post-mortem and said he was sticking with Weeden. This week he said they were going to take a look at things.
