MIA RB DeAndre Washington - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. New England Patriots

Myles Gaskin joined the Reserve/COVID-19 list last week, leaving DeAndre Washington as the lead back. Gaskin should remain on that list for Week 15, but Matt Breida came off that list this week. Salvon Ahmed has also been limited in practice, so there's a chance he returns. Even as the lead back, Washington didn't do much last week, finishing with 52 scrimmage yards and no scores. He'll be a decent flex play assuming Ahmed doesn't play, but Breida's return will likely take a few touches away. It's a solid matchup for Washington as the Patriots have allowed the seventh-most rushing yards to RBs this season.

MIA RB DeAndre Washington - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

UPDATE: DeAndre Washington is listed as doubtful and likely won't play this week.

Every time there's a new running back hurt on the Dolphins, Miami turns to someone that isn't Matt Breida. Last week, that back was DeAndre Washington. He led the team in touches with 15, finishing with 60 scrimmage yards and no touchdowns. He also all Miami backs in playing time with 48% of the offensive snaps. However, this week is a bit of a mess for the Dolphins' backfield. Myles Gaskin is eligible to return from IR, Washington hasn't been practicing and Salvon Ahmed has been limited in practice. We'll have a clearer picture of who is playing in this backfield later in the week where we can have better projections for each player.

OAK RB DeAndre Washington - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Denver Broncos
Josh Jacobs is doubtful for the matchup against Denver with a shoulder injury. Jacobs missed Week 14 and Week 16 with the same injury. In Week 16 against the Chargers, Washington out-snapped Jalen Richard 40 to 24 and out-touched Richard 25 to 9. Washington finished with 23 rushing attempts for 85 yards and one touchdown, two receptions on three targets for 21 yards, and was the half PPR RB11.

Jacobs has not been ruled out yet because the Raiders are motivated to win. They still have a chance of making the playoffs. A lot of pieces would have to fall into place but it is still mathematically possible.

Points for the Raiders might be limited because they are currently implied for 18.75 points. The Broncos are the sixth-best defense against running backs, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4’s rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Washington ranked as a mid-range half PPR RB2. Washington is only in play if Jacobs is ruled out.

OAK RB DeAndre Washington - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Los Angeles Chargers
Josh Jacobs has been ruled out with a shoulder injury. Jacobs was also out in Week 14, so there is a one-game sample of how Gruden ran the offense without Jacobs. It is worth mentioning one game is an extremely small sample and simply applying the exact same snap and touch split from Week 14 to this matchup against the Chargers would be a mistake. However, it can give us a general guideline to help improve our decision-making process.

In Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans, Washington out-snapped Jalen Richard 40 to 24 and out-touched Richard 20 to 9. Washington finished with 14 rushing attempts for 53 yards and one touchdown, six receptions on seven targets for 43 yards, and was the half PPR RB10.

Points for the Raiders might be limited because they are currently implied for 19.25 points. The Chargers are the thirteenth worst defense against running backs, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4’s rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Washington ranked as a borderline half PPR RB2. Washington appears to be the running back to start for the Raiders.

OAK RB DeAndre Washington - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Josh Jacobs was ruled out last week and DeAndre Washington took advantage of the opportunity to fill in for Jacobs. Washington out-snapped Jalen Richard 40 to 24 and out-touched Richard 20 to 9. Washington finished with 14 rushing attempts for 53 yards and one touchdown, six receptions on seven targets for 43 yards, and was the half PPR RB10.

Fantasy managers who picked Washington up on the waiver wire need to monitor Jacobs’ health status closely because Washington is only a threat if Jacobs is ruled out for the second week in a row. Jacobs is tentatively on track to play but it isn’t a certainty at this point. The Jaguars are second to last against running backs, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. Washington’s projection will most likely change once the Raiders release their final injury report. Be sure to monitor this situation closely.

OAK RB DeAndre Washington - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Tennessee Titans
On Wednesday, Josh Jacobs said he has been playing with a shoulder fracture since Week 7. Richard is only worth considering if Jacobs is ruled out. The Titans are the 19th defense against running backs, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Washington ranked as the half PPR RB45 but this would change if Jacobs is ruled out. If Jacobs does miss time, the backfield would likely be a running back by committee with Washington involved on early downs and Richard more involved in the passing game.

OAK RB DeAndre Washington - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Kansas City Chiefs
In Week 12, Washington played 22% of the snaps. He had six rushing attempts for 19 yards and one reception for zero yards. 4for4 rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Washington ranked as the half PPR RB62 and should not be in starting lineups.
