Steelers Beat: TE Eric Ebron a top red zone target

The Steelers were the best red zone team in the league two years ago and the worst one last year. A lot of that had to do with Ben Roethlisberger playing and then not playing, but they have never had a red zone threat like Eric Ebron.

Pittsburgh converted just 35 percent of its red zone possessions to touchdowns in 2019 — last in the NFL — after leading the league in 2018 with a red zone percentage of 73.5. Yeah, the loss of Roethlisberger, but the struggles at the tight end position played into that as well.

The story said Ebron brings a big and athletic target to the mix who does his best work inside the 20. Just two years ago, Ebron had 11 receptions inside the 20-yard line while playing for the Colts. Ten of them went for touchdowns. The Steelers managed only five all of last season, with one being a dump-off to a running back, the story added. The writer thinks things look promising for Ebron in the Steelers offense this season.
