TEN: WR Washington practiced again Tuesday

When the Titans open the regular season against the Steelers on Thursday night, however, WR Justin Gage might get plenty of attention.

Last season against the Steelers he caught five passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. In his next game, against the Ravens in the playoffs, he had 10 catches for 135 yards. It was a heck of a way to end the season.

Although the injured WR Nate Washington practiced again on Tuesday — leaving open the possibility that he will play against his former team — Gage figures to be the Titans receiver with the best chance for a big night.

Gage is reliable and his chemistry with quarterback Kerry Collins is great, Coach Jeff Fisher said.

Rookie Kenny Britt has worked with the first team all week in Washington's place. Behind him are rookie Dominique Edison and second-year pro Lavelle Hawkins.
