Jets make QB change, Michael Vick to start

The New York Jets are moving away from Geno Smith. Perhaps for good.

Rex Ryan announced Monday that Michael Vick will start Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

"I feel, right now, that this is the right move," Ryan said.

Smith's benching comes one day after the second-year passer threw three interceptions in a span of six plays during the first quarter of Sunday's embarrassing 43-23 home loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Impact:

Vick provided a temporary spark against the Bills, but eventually turned the ball over three times himself. While Vick hasn't been great in a couple of mop-up appearances, perhaps with a week of preparation he can at least be put in a better situation. Ironically, his first game comes at Kansas City against his former coach Andy Reid, who should have a good idea how to game plan against him. Vick has some potential for owners who are struggling in two QB leagues as a possible low-end QB2 with some upside. But he tends to turn the ball over and injuries are also a factor.
