Giants Jacobs is ok

Brandon Jacobs’ neck is no longer an issue. The running back said he will practice and be available to play against the Ravens on Saturday.

“It’s fine, it is doing good,” Jacobs said of his neck. “Nothing big. I will be out there today, full speed, doing what is called upon me to do.”

Jacobs said he injured his neck in the weight room doing shrugs without warming up beforehand. He did this last Thursday and didn’t expect to miss Saturday’s game against the Steelers.

“It was painful but it is something that was going to go away with proper treatment,” Jacobs said. “Never really a big issue with me.”

Jacobs reiterated that he feels good and strong this preseason after dealing with injuries last year.

Jacobs is looking forward to playing in the third preseason game. The running back said he is willing to do whatever role the coaching staff asks of him.

During the majority of training camp, running back Ahmad Bradshaw has gotten the first carry in practices. He also started the preseason opener against the Jets while Jacobs came in later.

Fantasy Impact:

It's looking more and more like Bradshaw could be the guy to get more work between the two, with Jacobs going back to maybe a change of pace and a goal line guy like he was with Tiki Barber. It was a role he really excelled in, too, leading to more carries but more injuries. Right now, Jacobs is rated 24th while Bradshaw is 27th. Jacobs ADP (7th) is almost a full round earlier than Bradshaw's (8th) as well. Keep an eye on this because both backs are worth drafting.
