Eagles Beat: RB Donnel Pumphrey falling behind other RBs

To start training camp, Donnel Pumphrey was flashing the elusiveness that caught the Eagles' eye in the first place. Then, when they took the field for the preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pumphrey wasn't dressed. Earlier in the week, he suffered a "lower-body injury" and the timetable for his return is unclear.

Pumphrey was far from a lock for the Eagles' No. 4 running back job, but it'll be awfully hard to beat out Wendell Smallwood and/or Josh Adams for a roster spot.

Fantasy Impact: 

It wasn't that long ago that Pumphrey seemed like a lock to make the team. He was even being told he'd see time out of the slot. But according to the story, Smallwood has excelled on special teams and Adams has been turning heads as an undrafted rookie.
