Darren McFadden suffers ankle injury

Raiders RB Darren McFadden suffered an ankle injury midway through the second quarter Sunday during a 42-32 loss to Tampa Bay and didn't return.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen said X-rays on McFadden's ankle were negative.

"I'm not sure the extent of (the injury)," Allen said. "We'll have to obviously take a look at it and see where it's at."

Backup Mike Goodson took over for McFadden, but he left the game with an ankle injury early in the fourth quarter and gave way to Taiwan Jones.

Adam Schefter had this to say about the injury: "Raiders RB Darren McFadden suffered a high ankle sprain on his first carry of the game, played through it before aggravating injury later. McFadden is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Mondy and is considered week to week for now."

Fantasy Impact:

Depending on the severity of the injuries to both McFadden and Goodson, the latter could be a hot pickup this week. The Raiders only ran the ball 11 times on Sunday, but Marcel Reece caught eight passes and scored a TD, so if both DMC and Goodson are out, he might be the best play in the Raider backfield. High ankle sprains are typically multi-week injuries.
