Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett gave injured rookie receiver Dez Bryant a pop quiz on the offense after Wednesday's afternoon practice.
“He wanted to make sure I was on top of my game and going over the playbook,” Bryant said. “He wanted to know if I had everything down.”
The test took place on the practice field in full view of reporters.
“He'd call out a play, and he wanted me to tell him what route I had,” Bryant said. Asked if he passed, Bryant said, “Yes, sir. I did.”
Bryant has been sidelined with a high right ankle sprain he suffered July 30 in San Antonio. The Cowboys are hopeful he'll be ready for the last two preseason games.
