Bortles: Allen Robinson to pick up slack in red zone

The loss of tight end Julius Thomas for up to a month will put more pressure on Jacksonville Jaguars second-year receiver Allen Robinson.

Sans the pass-catching tight end, Blake Bortles said the biggest area he expects to see Robinson make a leap in 2015 is in the red zone.

"Allen is going to be huge for us, but especially with Julius out," Bortles said, via The Florida Times-Union. "He's going to have to pick up some slack in the red zone. Obviously, he'll get more targets."

Fantasy Impact:

Robinson saw just five red-zone targets as a rookie, a number that should increase exponentially in 2015 with Thomas out for a month and Cecil Shorts -- 16 red area targets -- in Houston. Robinson is primed for a break-out year as the "X" receiver in the Jags' offense. The big-bodied wideout owns the size, body control and hands that make him a solid red-zone target when the field condenses -- that he was only thrown to five times in that area illustrates how anemic Jacksonville's offense was in 2014, the story said. He's ranked 27th this year on our list making him a low-end WR2, high-end WR3 prospect.
