With Donnel Pumphrey out — plus Matt Jones on Thursday night, though he's since returned — it's given undrafted free agent running back Josh Adams a chance to receive more touches than he might've if everyone was healthy.
Against the Steelers, his first carry went for 15 yards and he finished with eight touches overall.
Saturday, he even received a couple reps with the first-team.
Adams is part of a crowded backfield that also contains Ajayi and Sproles. Clement went undrafted last year and ended up catching a TD pass in the Super Bowl, so the Eagles aren't afraid to keep guys like Adams around. However, at this point, he's—at best—the team's No. 4 RB.
WAS RB Matt Jones - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 8 at Cincinnati
Matt Jones followed up a very impressive game against the Eagles in Week 6 with a disaster in Week 7. Jones ran 10 times for 27 yards and continued to have fumbling issues. Chris Thompson and Rob Kelley handled much of the work after that point.
Now the question is what happens to Jones this week. We still rank him ahead of Thompson and Kelley, but one has to wonder if he'll see a drop in his workload if he's able to overcome injury woes and suit up. He's probably not a great play even if he's healthy. Jones is ranked 24th on our standard RB list, making him a low-end RB2 option. The Bengals are 17th in allowing fantasy points to RBs (so it's not a bad matchup), but Jones' workload is a bit of a question mark.
