Reporters were present for a very brief warmup period, and Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas took part in that part of practice.

Reiss went on to say this could be an indication they are coming off the NFI/PUP lists. Edelman is dealing with a thumb issue while Thomas' injury is to his Achilles.

Rapoport retweeted Omaz Ruiz from the NFL Network. Ruiz said HC Sean Payton commented Brees was feeling pain but wouldn't comment much more. Brees will go through every test possible on his thumb, of course, but Payton added he expects an update in two days. Brees owners should start coming up with another plan at this point, as it seems possible Brees is going to miss time. Bridgewater is expected to take over.

Dolphins say QB Ryan Fitzpatrick still the starter

Two games, 10 points, 23 first downs. All that adds up to no wins in two home games for the Miami Dolphins, and surprisingly, no change at quarterback.

Following Miami's 43-0 defeat to the rival New England Patriots, in which Ryan Fitzpatrick threw not one, but two pick-sixes, Dolphins coach Brian Flores told reporters that the journeyman would remain his starting quarterback -- for now.

"Ryan's still the starter. We'll evaluate things over the course of the week," the rookie coach said following Miami's worst home loss since last week. "As of right now, Ryan is still the starter."

Fantasy Impact:

Named the starter ahead of the season instead of second-year signal-caller Rosen, the 36-year-old Fitzpatrick has done little to earn another shot at leading Miami's roster into Week 3. It seems like a change is likely going to happen at some point, probably sooner than later, as Fitz is just 25-for-50 for 174 yards, 0 TDs and 4 INTs in two games.

Jaguars QB Nick Foles (collarbone) aims to be back Week 11

Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles wasn't on the sidelines today as his team took on the Texans, as he is unable to travel per doctor's orders in the wake of surgery to repair his collarbone. Instead, as Gardner Minshew II takes over, Foles will watch from home.

But at the least, the belief is that the former big free-agent pickup will be back under center as soon as the rules allow. He is out for at least eight weeks on injured reserve and eligible to return for the Week 11 game against the Colts, and sources say that is the target date for him to be back.

As for the shoulder, Foles had a plate and screws utilized while fixing the clavicle to ensure long-term health, and a source said it was a clean, straight-forward break. In preparation for his return, Foles will have multiple scans before setting foot on the field, with all parties wary of a re-break. Assuming everything heals properly, he'll begin practicing the week before the Houston game in Week 9, then have the bye, then be back Week 11.
