Jets QB Mark Sanchez has an injured right shoulder and will not be in the lineup Thursday night when the team wraps up its preseason slate at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. His status is day-to-day.
It's being called a should bruise. After replacing Geno Smith in the fourth quarter, Sanchez hurt his right shoulder in what was essentially mop-up duty. While day-to-day may not be serious, it could have been a total disaster for HC Rex Ryan. Rookie Smith threw three interceptions in the game and perhaps isn't ready. The story says Sanchez appeared to be surprised when he was told to enter the game in the fourth quarter. He warmed up quickly and rushed on the field. Sanchez entered the game thinking he wasn't going to play, a source said.
