DFS Strategy for UFC 294

UFC 294 has everyone excited for a strong lineup of fights. Islam Makhachev takes on Alexander Volkanowski in the main event. Their first fight was razor-thin with many thinking Volkanowski won. While the rest of the card has some interesting fights, putting together a solid DFS lineup will be more difficult than it normally is due to the wide lines and salaries. With few mid-range plays available it will be important to differentiate lineups at the top and bottom of your entries.

Premium Plays ($9000 and Above)

Muhammad Mokaev $9600

Mokaev is one of the best young prospects in the UFC. He will get a step up in competition against a tricky veteran in Tim Elliott. Elliott’s constant movement and funky striking angles have caused many fighters trouble in the past but shouldn’t be a huge problem for Mokaev. Mokaev has been able to out-wrestle every one of his opponents in the UFC thus far. Outside of a desperation knee bar attempt by Filho in his last fight, Mokaev hasn’t found himself in much trouble in his fights. Mokaev’s lowest DFS score through four fights is 98.9 points. His style is built for DFS scoring systems and as long as he can control Elliott’s get-up game, it should be more of the same from Mokaev. His wrestling alone warrants the price here but Mokaev will also have the upside of finishing this fight by submission as well.
