Fantasy Football Trader's Alley Week 4: Players to Buy, Hold, or Sell

Welcome to the Week 4 edition of Trader's Alley! I'm your weekly tour guide on the bumpy ride that is trading in fantasy football leagues, here to highlight the most notable Buys, Holds, and Sells each week, powered by 4for4's powerful Trade Evaluator tool.

Remember, trading is more of a league- and leaguemates-dependent exercise than anything else in fantasy. What makes a trade "fair" or "feasible" is heavily determined by your league settings, roster constructions, available players, and leaguemate dispositions. So take everything you read here with a grain of salt, and do your best to adjust accordingly! (Or become a 4for4 subscriber of any tier and join the Discord to ask me directly in the weekly Trade Talk AMA on Wednesday evenings!)

This column assumes half-PPR, four-point passing touchdowns, and starting rosters with 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, and 1 FLEX — but you can also change the configurations on the Trade Evaluator tool to fit your league exactly.

Let's get into it.

Buy Cam Skattebo

Trade Evaluator: RB29 / 57th overall / 50 Trade Value points

If you’re lucky, the Cam Skattebo manager in your league might believe Sunday night’s breakout game was a fluke, or a product of Tyrone Tracy’s dislocated shoulder and nothing more. And while Tracy’s departure certainly helped unlock Skattebo in that game (for 121 yards and a TD), he had already shown that he belonged atop the depth chart. Skattebo has forced a missed tackle on 39.1% of his carries, the third-highest rate among qualified running backs behind Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Walker III. Tracy’s MTF rate of 4.5% is dead last on that same list.

Now, Tracy is set to miss some time with the shoulder injury, allowing Skattebo to lock down the starting job with confidence. And if we’re lucky, Jaxson Dart will take over for Russell Wilson in the very near future and give this offense a bit of an all-around spark. Especially in PPR leagues — Skattebo caught six passes on SNF — the rookie running back belongs in low-end RB2 territory moving forward. If you can get him for an RB3 or RB4 price, pull the trigger ASAP.
