The Training Room: 7 Injured Players to Fade Due to Injury

Injuries can make or break your season in fantasy football. It is important to be aware of various injuries as you enter draft season. Here is the third part of a series of four articles discussing certain players who are dealing with injuries that should be faded in your drafts. There are many more players who have injury risk, but if I did not mention them, then I believe that their risk is baked into their current cost at ADP. The players listed below are strictly players who have an injury risk that exceeds the value of their current ADP, hence the reason to fade.
Joe Mixon, RB HOU
Injury: Foot
One of the hottest topics of the 2025 preseason so far has been the mysterious Joe Mixon foot injury that has lingered since April and has not allowed him to practice at all. Reports from Aaron Wilson have indicated that his rehab has been very complicated and that he will likely remain on the NFI to begin the season. It has been clear that medically, he has not been healing well, considering this issue popped up in April or early May, and he has still not been able to practice at all four months later. It appears that some analysts out there have been recommending buying the dip on Mixon due to his previous talent and ability when healthy. I have reason to believe that there is real risk that Mixon does not play at all this season, or even if he does suit up at some point, that he will not be the same player with signifcant regression. I have removed him from my board for 2025 drafts and dynasty.
