Jake's DK Top Plays and Best Bets for the Travelers Championship

Every week on Wednesday afternoons, I’ll be posting a few of my favorite DraftKings plays in this article with brief write-ups of each player. I will also include some of my “best bets” for the week as well. I’ll use this space up top to recap the previous week and share any thoughts or takeaways I have going forward. I’ll include my top plays from the week prior, their DK Price, where they finished on the leaderboard, and how many DK points they scored. This article will be FREE every week, but with access to a 4for4 betting sub, you will get access to our discord and all of our bets (PGA + other sports).

US Open Recap:

The U.S. Open this year had a finish for the ages: a holed sixty-five-foot putt on the 72nd hole by JJ Spaun to secure the win. Our top plays, though, didn’t have many great finishes like JJ. The headline of the week was Top Play, Jon Rahm. Rahm could not hole a putt in the first two rounds of the tournament; had he made some of those, he could’ve pushed for a win. Fleetwood, one of the most accurate drivers of the golf ball, struggled to keep the ball straight in the first two rounds and paid the price with a missed cut. Conners was lighting the course on fire in R3 before he injured his wrist whacking out of a plugged lie. If Conners hadn’t gotten injured, I would not be shocked if he finished inside the top 20 the way he was playing on Saturday.

After three rounds, Ryan Gerard sat at T21, a dream come true for his price; sadly, he shot a Sunday 79 and fell to T50. Still, a made cut and a T50 finish from a 6100 golfer is nothing to complain about.

Traverler’s Championship DraftKings Top Plays (DK Price, Outright Odds, Model Rank)

Xander Schauffele, $10.8k, 12/1 Widely Available, 7th in model

Key Stats:

  • 1st in SG:TOT (Last 5 Years Course History)
  • 6th in SG:APP (Last 18 Months Short/Very Short Courses)
  • 3rd in GIR % (Last 18 Months GIR Accuracy Easy)
  • 3rd in SG:P (Last 3 Years Bent/Poa Greens)

In Xander’s last seven events, his worst finish is a T28 finish at the PGA Championship. Xander struggled a bit to start the season after the rib injury he sustained, but has slowly been inching back to his old self. A T12 finish at the US Open, where he gained strokes in all categories, is super encouraging, and his biggest weakness this season has been his inaccuracy OTT. Last week, Xander was in the Top 30 for driving accuracy, another step in the right direction. Xander’s last four starts at TPC River Highlands were finishes of T20, 1st, T19, and a T13 finish. Xander’s combination of elite ball striking and spiky putting ability is why he won two majors last year and had 15+ Top 10 finishes.

Viktor Hovland, $9.0K, +40/1 FD/DK, 14th in model

Key Stats:

  • 8th in SG:TOT (Last 5 Years Course History)
  • 5th in SG:APP (in 2025)
  • 5th in SG:BS (Last 18 Months Gain APP Easy/Average)
  • 7th in Fairway 150-175 (Last 50 Rounds)

I have always believed in Viktor Hovland, and I think he can work himself back to his 2023 self, where he was undeniably a Top 5 golfer in the world. Despite Viktor’s struggles over the past two seasons, his elite iron play never slipped, and he’s remained one of the best in the world. What hurt Viktor was his complete and utter inability to hit a shot around the green. Viktor appears to be turning a corner in those struggles, gaining ARG in four of his last seven starts, and he finished 2nd in the entire field last week in SG:ARG. If Viktor can get his short game under control, he’ll be one of the best golfers in the world on a week-to-week basis. TPC River Highlands is a great course for him, as the past winners and top finishers hit a ton of greens in regulation and separated with their iron and wedge play, which is Viktor's bread and butter.

Akshay Bhatia, $7.4K, +66/1 Bet365, 16th in model

Key Stats:

  • 9th in SG:TOT (Last 5 Years Course History)
  • 14th in SG:OTT (Last 50 Rounds Missed Fairway Penalty: High)
  • 9th in SG:APP (Last 50 Rounds Short/Very Short Courses)
  • 5th in SG:P (in 2025)

Bhatia has missed four cuts in the last two months, but despite the struggles, he’s shown plenty of positives. Bhatia is having his best season with his irons in his young career, and his best year putting. Bhatia’s Achilles heel has been his lackluster ARG play. Bhatia has been one of the worst ARG golfers in the last two months, but back-to-back tournaments of gaining around the green at the Memorial (long rough) and the US Open (long rough) have me back in on Bhatia’s game as a whole. Bhatia is only 23 years old and is already a 2x winner on tour. He has also flashed his elite ceiling this year with a T16 finish at the Memorial (elevated event), a T3 at the PLAYERS, and a T9 finish at the Genesis (elevated event). Bhatia at 7400 can lead this field in putting and/or approach any given week.

Luke Clanton, $7.4K, 200/1 FD/DK, 19th in model

Key Stats:

  • 10th SG:OTT (Last 50 Rounds OTT Club Less Than Driver and Mixed)
  • 2nd in Good Drive % (Last 18 Months Missed Fairway Penalty: High)
  • 1st in GIR % (Last 50 Rounds Small Greens)
  • 7th in BoB % (Last 12 Months Average/Easy/Very Easy Scoring)

Luke Clanton has finally turned pro, and he’s coming off his first missed cut as a professional at the RBC Canadian Open. Clanton has proven in college and his few PGA starts that he has one of the highest ceilings in golf, especially as a ball striker. At 21 years old, Clanton has finished in the Top 10 in 4/13 starts on the PGA Tour. Clanton has struggled with his short game in tour events this season, but if he’s striking the ball as well as he can, he can more than pay off his price tag of 7400. Hopefully, the somewhat slow greens can help Clanton on the greens this week and help the young star get his first victory.
