Tight Ends – Starts

Dalton Schultz (Dallas Cowboys) @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Dallas Cowboys at Jacksonville Jaguars game opened with a 47.5-point over/under at BetMGM.

Jacksonville’s bottom-barrel coverage-linebacker corps is allowing 12.3 half-PPR points per game to opposing tight ends, the fourth most in the NFL per 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed.

Schultz’s 24.0% targets per route run rate and 1.69 yards per route run rate both rank top-seven among NFL tight ends with at least 50 targets, per 4for4's NFL Player Stats Explorer. His outrageous 41.2% team end zone target share leads the tight position by a 5.9% margin.

George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers) @ Seattle Seahawks

The San Francisco 49ers have a 43.5-point implied team total against the Seattle Seahawks.

Tight end George Kittle has produced just one double-digit half-PPR outing since Week 8 but Seattle’s 14.1 half-PPR points allowed per game to opposing tight ends (second most) offer reason for optimism.

The table below shows Kittle’s three-year results versus Seattle. He dealt with injuries in both Week 4, 2021, and Week 8, 2020.

George Kittle vs. SEA Rec./Tgt. - Yards - TD - Fum.
Week 13, 2021 9/12 - 181 - 2 - 0
Week 4, 2021 4/10 - 40 - 0 - 0
Week 17, 2020 7/9 69 - 0 - 0
Week 8, 2020 2/4 - 39 - 0 - 0
Week 17, 2019 7/7 - 86 - 0 - 0

Spot-start quarterback Brock Purdy has proven to be NFL-ready, throwing for 10.71 adjusted yards per attempt last week, trailing only Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins (11.1).

Gerald Everett (Los Angeles Chargers) vs. Tennessee Titans

The Los Angeles Chargers are 2.5-point home favorites with a 24.75-point implied team total versus the Tennessee Titans, whose 10.7 half-PPR points allowed per game to opposing tight ends ranks seventh most in the NFL.

While elite tight ends have easily made hay against Tennessee, less heralded tight ends have also produced explosive performances against their lacking linebackers. Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Even Engram most recently caught 11-of-15 targets for 162 yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee.

Tight end Gerald Everett has maintained a healthy 22.0% targets per route run rate and his thumping 5.9 yards after the catch per reception ranks 11th among 42 NFL tight ends with at least 25 targets.

Tight End - Sits

Noah Fant (Seattle Seahawks) vs. San Francisco 49ers

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant saw his route participation rate rise from 47.4% in Weeks 1-6 to 54.0% in Weeks 7-10 and his 1.93 yards per route run during the latter time frame were extremely promising. Fant’s post-Week 11 usage took a turn for the worse, dropping roughly 5.0% each week before settling at 40.5% in Week 14, where he failed to secure his lone target.

Week 14 brings a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, whose 6.1 half-PPR points allowed per game are tied for the league-best mark. Fant cannot be started at this time.
