PropSwap Buys of the Week: Final Four Futures
Conference Tournament season is real... and it is fantastic!
The 32 automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament are up for grabs. Many of the smaller mid-major conferences have already started, while the large-school conferences will start their tournaments next week. Today, we look at some fantastic college basketball Final Four futures on PropSwap, specifically, two teams seeded very high by the committee.
PropSwap is an open marketplace where you can post tickets and make them available via a straight sale or a bidding process. In many ways, PropSwap is an eBay for sports tickets. It is the perfect resource for bettors who are looking to escape from an unfavorable bet or sacrifice a big payday to lock in a more modest gain. If you buy a ticket on PropSwap, it is sent to you via certified mail. If your ticket wins, it must be redeemed at a licensed sportsbook. The typical expiration date is six months or 180 days.
Each week I will examine what's available on PropSwap and highlight tickets to buy. Never used PropSwap before? Kansas To Make The Final Four
- PropSwap Odds: 2.69/1
- Current Odds: +250 (DraftKings)
- Ticket Cost: $29.30
- Win: $108
Despite the recent struggles by Kansas, the Jayhawks are still around +250 at most sportsbooks to reach the Final Four. Kanas has lost their last two games to Baylor and TCU away, yet just need to win their last two games at home to clinch another Big 12 regular-season championship. Recency bias has caused many Kansas futures ticket holders to consider selling, which provides great opportunities on PropSwap.
Head coach Bill Self's team is the fourth-most efficient offense in the country, while also carrying the 40th-most efficient defense, per KenPom. Kansas has an All-American player in Ochai Agbaji (20.1 PPG, 43.5% 3P), a quality post-presence in David McCormack (9.7 PPG, 7.2 RPG) and a deep roster with a cadre of five-star recruits. With this year's NCAA Tournament projecting as a wide-open field, it's incredible to see Kansas actually being undervalued by the market.
I recommend grabbing one of the nation's legendary college basketball programs at an incredible 2.69-to-1 value before the public realizes the Jayhawks are still a top-five program in the country.
Illinois To Make The Final Four
- PropSwap Odds: 7.40/1
- Current Odds: +650 (PointsBet)
- Ticket Cost: $25
- Win: $210
Illinois is 20-8 overall and 13-5 in the Big Ten, yet bettors are clearly suffering from Illionois fatigue. After earning a No. 1 seed in last year's NCAA Tournament, Illinois was upset in the second round by a grossly under-seeded Loyola-Chicago team. The Ramblers' tournament magic struck again, as the Illini were upset 71-58 in a game that was never really close.
Head coach Brad Underwood returned several players from the team, including dominant big man Kofi Cockburn (21.5 PPG, 10.7 RPG). Cockburn and point guard Andre Curbelo (8.1 PPG) have missed a combined 19 games, which was reflected in surprising losses to teams such as Marquette, Cincinnati and Maryland. The Illini still carry a perfect metric balance, with a top 30 efficiency rating on both offense and defense. They also rank first overall in Big Ten play in effective field goal percentage allowed.
The odds vary on Illinois, but most sportsbooks have their Final Four odds below this incredible value of 7.40-to-1. With just two home wins over Penn State and Iowa, savvy bettors could get a 15-5 Big Ten team at over 7-to-1 to just make the Final Four. This is another great example of capitalizing on a great team with National Championship talent undervalued by the market.
