DFS Kicker and DST Analysis: Week 14

I'm Justin Bailey. Each week I’ll provide 4for4 DFS subscribers with an in-depth breakdown of the upside and downside of the defenses and kickers on the main slate. For those of you who don't know me, I've been analyzing DFS since 2014. My analysis in this space will include how to approach each of the chalk options, along with how options at the various salary tiers fit into overall roster construction. Ultimately, this piece will provide objective analysis to help guide you through the process of finding safe choices for cash games and high-leverage choices for GPPs.

The Bengals are currently projected to be our highest-owned defense for Week 14. Given their minimal cost on both sites, they’re my preferred cash game defense, especially on FanDuel where they are priced as the 11th-most expensive defense. Overall, there isn’t much risk in fading the Bengals if you choose to go that route. There is an abundance of options in the mid-range, with some contrarian value plays as well.

  • The Cincinnati Bengals ($4,600/$3,300) come into the week as 6-point favorites against the Bears. They’re tied with the Chargers as the largest favorite on the slate. They have the benefit of being at home and the Bears rank 20th in defensive aFPA. The Bears have the slate’s lowest implied total at 15.75, and the Bengals currently boast the highest odds among defenses to hit their cash game target score.
