Stacking the Deck: FanDuel & DraftKings Stacks for Week 4

Welcome back to Stacking the Deck.

This season at 4for4 we will be providing subscribers with Value Reports and Stack Value Reports that value every stack in terms of projected points/$. We also use our Adjusted Fantasy Points Against (aFPA) metric, which has been adjusted to reflect offseason transactions, heavily in the column.

What’s new this year is we know have the have the advantage of putting into practice two great offseason studies from my colleague, Senior DFS Editor, Chris Raybon: The Definitive Guide to Stacking on FanDuel and The Definitive Guide to Stacking on DraftKings.

Inserting correlation plays are an underrated aspect of stacking. In tournaments, often times a top stack can vault you up the leaderboards. However, what can really set your lineups apart is having that correlation play from the other team.

For example, last week we recommended you go with the Aaron Rodgers-to-Jordy Nelson stack. That was great, but better than great would have been playing Marvin Jones from the same game in those lineups. This is easy to say in hindsight, but the process it takes to get to a stack like that should be on our minds week to week.

We are going to focus on these positive correlations in this column, but also put a higher emphasis on leverage plays in GPPs this season.

The following are my top stacks for Week 4 on both FanDuel and DraftKings:

FanDuel Stacks

Kirk Cousins ($7,600) & DeSean Jackson ($6,900) vs. CLE

Quarterback and WR1 have a .45 correlation on FanDuel, the strongest of all positions. Washington is a home favorite, with a team total of 26.75 (second-highest of the week). Cousins has a ceiling of 31.1 in our projections. Jackson should be able to break a couple big plays against this defense while Jordan Reed and Jamison Crowder shred underneath against a Cleveland team that is just plain #bad.

Ben Roethlisberger ($8,400) & Antonio Brown ($9,400) vs. KC

Pittsburgh’s team total is the fifth-highest of the week at 26 points and they are a home favorite against Kansas City. Big Ben has the ninth-highest ceiling on the slate and Antonio Brown naturally is our number-one wide receiver in Week 4. This could be a nice leverage play off of all the traffic going Le’Veon Bell’s way this week and the Roethlisberger-Brown stack is always a good bet to go off at home. Roethlisberger-Brown is our number-one stack in terms of ceiling on our FanDuel Stack Value Reports.
