LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at San Francisco 49ers

Woods saw double-digit targets for the first time since Week 5 during Week 9’s game. He could see the same again in Week 10 if RB Darrell Henderson (game) has to miss the game. The 49ers have done well to only allow one receiver to produce, so know that Woods still carries volatility, especially with Cooper Kupp dominating weekly. Woods is a WR2 Week 10.

LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 versus Tennessee Titans

His versatility benefitted his fantasy day in Week 8 and can do the same against Tennessee in Week 9. The Titans are 31st in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to wideouts and face one of the best trios in football. Woods is a locked-in starter with a chance to be a WR1 with teammate Cooper Kupp.

LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Houston Texans

If Cooper Kupp was not having one of the best individual receiving seasons in recent history, Robert Woods’s numbers would not seem so mediocre. Woods has topped double-digit fantasy points in six of seven games in half and full-point PPR formats. His target share is well behind Kupp’s which is also an issue when hoping for spike weeks in the same stratosphere as his teammate’s. Houston is top five against opposing receivers, but that is subjective considering how poor the Texans run defense is. Woods is a WR2/3 against one of the worst defenses in football.

Week 7 vs Lions

Woods salvaged his Week 6 with a touchdown as Cooper Kupp was the main target. His five targets were his fewest since Week 1 but part of that is hard to do with the Rams curb-stomping the Giants. The Lions are even worse against the run than New York, which puts into question how high the ceiling can be for Woods. He will be a WR2 with potential to be a borderline WR1 if he can out-target Kupp.

LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Giants

The squeaky wheel always gets the grease. Roberts Woods was the lead dog in receiving production for the Rams Week 5 and out-targeted teammate Cooper Kupp for the first time this season. Next up is a trip to New Jersey to take on the 24th-ranked defense in aFPA to wide receivers. Outside receivers have recorded either 60 yards receiving or a touchdown each week this season.

LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Seahawks

Robert Woods had his best fantasy day of the season but topped double-digit fantasy points in half-PPR formats for just the second time this season. Teammate Cooper Kupp is hogging targets and it has affected Woods’ production. The positive is Seattle’s defense is 24th in aFPA to the wide receiver position and has allowed a 100-yard receiver that lines up outside in three straight games (with three touchdowns). At this point, the fantasy floor is low for Woods but a top 10 matchup puts him safely in the WR2/3 conversation.

LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs Cardinals

We love to see 19 targets through three games but we hate to see all the spoils go to Cooper Kupp. I do not know if Woods is not a breakfast person but he has fallen behind Kupp in terms of productivity. His matchup against the Arizona Cardinals is still a winnable one and as long as the veteran sees a comparable number of targets as Kupp, he is bound to break out of his yardage slump. Woods is in the WR2 conversation as long as the Rams continue to power the ball downfield through the air.

LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Buccaneers

Despite an increase in targets and catches in Week 2, Robert Woods was the clear second fiddle to Cooper Kupp. Woods will also have the more difficult matchup than Kupp by going against Carlton Davis/Jamel Dean on the perimeter. If The Rams want to make sure Woods is fed and keeps the pressure off Kupp after his hot start, quick routes are the way to beat Tampa outside. Amari Cooper and Calvin Ridley have had success that way, each scoring a touchdown on at least seven catches. It will be interesting to see how the passing game plays out if the Rams and Bucs play a tight game, something the Bucs have not had for long stretches over their first two contests. Woods is a WR2 at home.

LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs Colts

Despite a quiet week in terms of yards, Robert Woods managed three receptions, one rushing attempt, and a touchdown. Blown coverages by the Bears defense opened up big plays for other receivers but does not preclude Woods from getting his this week against the Colts. Indy allowed 160 receiving yards and three touchdowns to DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, and the difference between those two and Woods/Cooper Kupp is not that different. Expect Woods to see more targets in their first road game of 2021.

LAR WR Robert Woods - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Bears

The arrival of Matthew Stafford boosts Robert Woods’ fantasy floor including Week 1 against Chicago. The Bears enter 2021 as the 6th-best defense in schedule-adjusted positional defensive rankings but have serious question marks at cornerback. Woods should see Jaylon Johnson but not necessarily as a shadow. Opposite Johnson is second-year CB Kindle Vildor. Exactly. As long as the Rams offensive line holds, Woods is on track to be a WR2 with WR1 upside.
