Donte Moncrief - Week 16 vs. Dallas
Donte Moncrief has had two 100-yard breakout games this season, which raises his hype. But he also has four games without a reception. Oddly enough, two of those games both came two weeks after his 100-yard games. Last week was one of those zero-yard games and that's because he didn't even get a target.
Moncrief has breakout potential, but he's a very risky option given his low floor. He's a low WR3 or WR4 option weekly.
Donte Moncrief - Week 15 vs. Houston Texans
Donte Moncrief is starting to get more playing time. He has three consecutive games with four targets. In two of those games he finished with 38 yards and 33 yards with no touchdowns. In the other game he finished with 134 yards and two touchdowns. As you can see, he's a tough player to predict.
Moncrief gets a dream matchup this week against Houston, but his usage should be a concern. Even though he has more production than Reggie Wayne Moncrief is playing fewer snaps. He's also not being targeted as much as Wayne.
T.Y. Hilton should get the bulk of the receiving yards from Andrew Luck with Moncrief and Wayne contributing behind him. Moncrief has a high ceiling, but should be viewed as a WR3 or WR4.
Donte Moncrief - Week 14 vs. Cleveland Browns
Don't get too excited by Donte Moncrief's big performance last week (3-134-2). He had a big game earlier this year against Pittsburgh (7-113-1) and followed it up with a one-catch dud.
There's still reason for optimism, however. Moncrief played on over half of the team's offensive snaps (more than Hakeem Nicks) and now has back-to-back games with four targets. It's the first time this season we've seen that.
He'll get a middle-of-the-road matchup this week against Cleveland. He should be viewed as a WR4 with upside.
Donte Moncrief - Week 13 vs. Washington
Donte Moncrief was a bit more involved in the offense last week. He caught four balls for 38 yards on four targets. In his previous two games he had a total of one catch for two yards.
The rookie wideout has a lot of talent, but he's not playing much this season. He'll be a good investment for the future, but right now he's not worth a start. He does make for a high-upside bench add.
Donte Moncrief - Week 12 vs. Jacksonville
Donte Moncrief has one reception in the two games following his explosive 113-yard outburst. He's simply not being targeted and is not worth a look.
Donte Moncrief - Week 11 vs. New England
After going for 113 yards on seven receptions in Week 8, Donte Moncrief finished with just one catch for two yards in Week 9. The Colts return this week, but it doesn't appear as if the rookie plays a big role in this offense. He's not worth consideration until he moves up the depth chart.
Donte Moncrief - Week 9 vs. New York Giants
Before last week's game head coach Chuck Pagano said he was debating between Donte Moncrief and Hakeem Nicks for the starting position in Reggie Wayne's (injury) place. Nicks officially got the start, but it was Moncrief who benefited the most.
The rookie saw a team-high 12 targets against Pittsburgh and caught seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. Nicks hasn't had 113 yards in his last five games combined.
Wayne could return to the lineup this week, but his availability is in question. He did not practice on Thursday. We haven't seen much success from Moncrief when Wayne plays, but one has to think he's played himself into some sort of role after his last performance. He doesn't get a great matchup this week, but he'll be a solid WR3 if Wayne sits out.
Donte Moncrief - Week 5 vs. Baltimore
Donte Moncrief has eight career receptions, five of which came in a game where he played in garbage time. He's not worth fantasy consideration.
Donte Moncrief - Week 4 vs. Tennessee Titans
Donte Moncrief saw increased action in the Colts' Week 3 blowout. He caught four passes for 55 yards and even had a seven yard run. He's a promising wideout for the future, but as of now he's not worth starting.
Donte Moncrief - Week 3 vs. Jacksonville
Through two games Donte Moncrief has two receptions. But after just being on the field for three percent of the team's offensive snaps in Week 2, it's safe to say he's not worth a look in fantasy.
