ATL RB Tyler Allgeier - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Chicago Bears

Tyler Allgeier had a nice touchdown run last week against the Colts but he's still firmly behind Bijan Robinson. Even in a nice matchup against the Bears, there's way too much risk on what is basically a handcuff to rely on Allgeier in the championship round. This is Bijan Robinson's backfield.

Week 16 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Tyler Allgeier saw double the amount of rushing attempts (14) that Bijan Robinson received (7) in Week 15 against the Panthers. Allgeier took those rushes just 45 yards total. He has reached 50 yards rushing just once in his last seven games and just four times all season. The Falcons should give Robinson more work, which would result in Allgeier being a very risky flex play this week, even in a favorable matchup against the Colts.

Week 15 at Carolina Panthers

While Tyler Allgeier saw just one fewer rushing attempt than Bijan Robinson in Week 15, he didn't see a single target in the passing game. This is Robinson's backfield while Allgeier gets sprinkled in every now and then. With the playoffs upon us, Allgeier is too risky to count on to help you advance to Week 16.

Week 14 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tyler Allgeier played his fewest snaps last week against the Jets as the Falcons seemed to have fully turned to Bijan Robinson. Allgeier will still be sprinkled into the offense, but he's a deep-league flex option at best going forward. You're banking on him stealing a touchdown if you're starting him.

Week 13 at New York Jets

Tyler Allgeier's 64 yards rushing in Week 12 were his most since his 75-yard performance in Week 1. Of course, Atlanta has been giving the ball to Bijan Robinson much more in recent weeks. The Jets have struggled at times against the run and with six teams on a bye this week, Allgeier creeps into flex territory, but his fantasy ceiling remains limited as long as Atlanta (rightfully) continues to feed Robinson.

This may be the time Tyler Allgeier starts becoming not much more than a fantasy handcuff. Bijan Robinson saw 22 carries while Allgeier had just nine. And with the bye week, the Falcons may have realized it's time to feed Allgeier. If that's the case, Allgeier becomes just a borderline flex play moving forward.

Tyler Allgeier saw one more rushing attempt than Bijan Robinson last week against the Vikings. He’s also been getting more usage in the red zone than Robinson. For whatever reason, the Falcons are using Allgeier in key situations rather than Robinson, allowing Allgeier to stick around as a flex option since he’ll always have a chance to score each week.
