DET RB Tion Green - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Green Bay Packers

At Cincinnati last week, Tion Green led the Lions with 7 rushes for 45 yards and scored his second TD in the past four weeks. With this Sunday’s game meaningless, expect to see Green as the team’s leading ball-carrier again, as they evaluate what they have in the rookie. Even against a poor Packers defense, there are better options to start at RB than Green.

DET RB Tion Green - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Cincinnati Bengals

On Saturday against a decent Bears defense, Tion Green led the Lions with 10 carries for 35 yards, as Theo Riddick left the game with a wrist injury. While Riddick was more productive with his 8 rushing attempts (49 yards), the rookie is getting more playing time than Ameer Abdullah and has received 26 rushes over the past three weeks. Expect Green and Riddick, if he's healthy, to receive similar backfield touches this week at Cincinnati, meaning neither of them make for a good fantasy start, despite going against the league’s worst defense at stopping the run. Leave Green off your roster on Sunday.

DET RB Tion Green - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Replacing the injured Ameer Abdullah last Sunday at Baltimore, Tion Green ran for 51 yards on 11 carries and scored his first NFL touchdown. If Abdullah is out again this week, the rookie could be a sneaky start against the league’s second worst defense. Be sure to monitor the injury report.
