LV RB Peyton Barber - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Kansas City Chiefs

Peyton Barber filled in for Josh Jacobs earlier this season and got a pretty hefty workload. Don’t expect similar production now that Kenyan Drake is hurt. An uptick in touches is likely, but this should still be Jacobs’ backfield. Barber should remain on waivers in all fantasy leagues.

Week 4 at Los Angeles Chargers

Peyton Barber had a great game against a terrible Dolphins run defense last week, rushing for 111 yards on 23 carries in a close Raiders victory. He also added 31 yards on three receptions. Those numbers seem more associated with the matchup and game flow than a sudden arrival of Barber as a talent, but fantasy managers should still take notice. If Josh Jacobs – who was doubtful heading into last Sunday – continues to miss time, it appears Barber’s workload should at least give him some upside. Watch that injury report carefully. If Jacobs is out, Barber has low-end flex potential with his workload.

WAS RB Peyton Barber - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Peyton Barber led Washington in touches (14) last week, finishing with 12 carries and two receptions. However, Barber wasn't very productive, averaging 2.7 yards per touch. The story with Barber is a familiar one we've seen from him. He's a high-volume, low-yardage back who you're hoping falls into the endzone at some point. He'll face a Seahawks defense this week that's allowed 11 rushing touchdowns to backs this season, which is ninth-most in the league. Barber will be a touchdown-dependent flex play in Week 15.

WAS RB Peyton Barber - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at San Francisco 49ers

Peyton Barber has some appeal this week as Antonio Gibson will likely be out with a toe injury. Barber isn't a sexy choice considering he's averaging 2.7 yards on his 73 carries this season. He also offers next to nothing as a receiver as J.D. McKissic owns that role in Washington. The only good thing about Barber is he'll get the goal line carries if Washington gets the opportunity. However, he's facing a 49ers defense that's only given up six rushing touchdowns to running backs this season, fifth-fewest in the league. Barber is a touchdown-dependent flex play in Week 14.

Week 3 at Cleveland Browns

Peyton Barber went from rushing 17 times in Week 1 to playing just one snap in Week 2. Washington has seemingly moved on from Barber, opting to give rookie Antonio Gibson a chance at more carries. Since Gibson was much more productive, we figure Barber should be irrelevant in fantasy moving forward, aside from a few potential vulture scores.

Week 2 at Arizona Cardinals

Peyton Barber had a typical Peyton Barber game, rushing a team-high 17 times for only 29 yards. He found the endzone twice, though, which gives him some fantasy relevance. Antonio Gibson is the only Washington back who offers promise, and we'd expect his usage to increase throughout the season. Barber is nothing more than a touchdown dependent flex play.

TB RB Peyton Barber - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Peyton Barber barely had a role last week, playing on just eight snaps (out of 73). He had five carries for 13 yards as Ronald Jones and Dare Ogunbowale saw more playing time. Barber has a minimal role in this offense, playing the third-fewest snaps among Tampa's three-headed backfield. He averages just 30 rushing yards per game, and isn't a good option in Week 17, despite the favorable matchup against the Falcons.
