Scouting report

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Kyler Murray had a phenomenal game against the Eagles last week. In a thrilling victory, he put up 406 yards, three touchdowns and a pick through the air, and added 29 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Murray looked healthy for the second week in a row, and his shoulder no longer seems to be holding him back. He should continue to be the driver behind this offense.

This week, he’ll face a 49ers defense that ranks sixth in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Despite the matchup, Murray has too much upside, combined with safety due to his rushing production, making him a must-start regardless of matchup. Stick with the ones that got you there this week, and keep Murray active.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Kyler Murray has struggled recently, perhaps due to a lingering shoulder issue, but he put together a respectable outing last week against the Giants. He ended up with 244 passing yards and a touchdown, and added 47 yards on 13 rush attempts. It was his most attempts since later October, and his most yards since November 15th against Buffalo, hopefully indicating an improvement in health.

This week, Murray faces an Eagles defense that ranks 14th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Murray looking healthier last week provides some confidence in sticking with him for the fantasy playoffs. Start him this week as well, and expect similar rushing production to return.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at New York Giants

Kyler Murray was held under 200 passing yards for the second straight game, but he did throw three touchdown passes in a loss to the Rams last week. He also threw a pick, his 10th of the season. Most concerning is that Murray has rushed for just 61 total yards over his past three games combined, including 15 last week. He rushed for at last that many yards in each of all but two of the previous games this season. Murray is still on pace for 887 rushing yards and has 10 rushing and 22 passing touchdowns, but the recent struggles and report of him playing at less than 100% are troubling as the fantasy playoffs begin.

Murray has a tough matchup this week against the Giants, who rank seventh in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season and just frustrated Russell Wilson last week. Murray should still be active in most leagues, but if you have another steady option with a better matchup, it might be best to sit Murray this week. It seems crazy, but until we see him looking more like he did before getting nicked up, it’s risky to hinge your fantasy playoff hopes on him. We have him ranked just outside our top-10 this week, making him a fringe starter.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Kyler Murray had his worst game of the season against the Patriots last week, with just 170 passing yards and an interception. He added 31 yards rushing on five attempts, but failed to deliver a touchdown for fantasy owners for the first time all year.

Things won’t get easier for Murray against the Rams this week, who rank second in the league in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Still, he’s been able to deliver more often than not, regardless of matchup, and his rushing continues to give him a solid floor. He’s still averaging 59 rushing yards per game and has accounted for 29 touchdowns – 19 passing, and 10 rushing. Start him.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at New England Patriots

Kyler Murray struggled against the Seahawks last week – at least by his standards. He threw for 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and added just 15 yards rushing. This should be considered Murray’s fantasy floor, which is still a solid day in most league formats. He’s averaging 35.3 pass attempts and 61.9 rushing yards per game, and is a must-start each week regardless of matchup.

This week, Murray faces a Patriots defense that ranks 15th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Even if this were last season’s Patriots, he’d still be considered an elite fantasy option, as long as he’s healthy. Murray is dealing with a shoulder injury, so keep an eye on the inactive report, but all reports out seem to indicate he’s good to go, and he should be active in all leagues.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Seattle Seahawks

Kyler Murray only threw for 245 yards, a touchdown and a pick against the Bills last week, but he added 61 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground, turning in another stellar fantasy performance. Murray is eighth in the league in rushing yards with 604, and his 10 rushing touchdowns are second only to Dalvin Cook. The rushing production he consistently churns out makes him a high-floor fantasy option every week.

This week, Murray has a great matchup against the Seahawks, who rank 31st in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks and allowed three passing and one rushing touchdown to Murray just three games ago. Expect another back-and-forth between these two, with huge fantasy numbers for both teams. Start him.

ARI QB Kyler Murray - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Buffalo Bills

Kyler Murray had a fantastic game against the Dolphins last week, narrowly losing but still putting up 283 yards and three touchdowns through the air, and 106 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Murray now has 543 rushing yards and has eight rushing and 16 passing touchdowns through half a season. That’s a pace for 48 total touchdowns, which are MVP caliber numbers if he can keep the team in playoff contention.

This week, Murray faces a Bills defense that forced four turnovers off the Seahawks last week, but ranks 19th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks so far this season. Murray should be able to continue his impressive production against Buffalo and is once again an elite fantasy option in all formats. Start him.
