Scouting report

WAS K Kai Forbath - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Miami
Kai Forbath is ranked 25th among our kickers this week. It's an average matchup as the Dolphins are 18th in allowing fantasy points to kickers. If the Skins can move the ball, Forbath could have some opportunities against this very good defense. However, he's too far down the list for owners not to have a better option at this point.

WAS K Kai Forbath - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Kai Forbath should at least be playing in an improved offense this season, but that will depend on the success of QB Robert Griffin III. While RG3 has looked good in camp so far, we'll have to see how that transitions to real games. If he can get back to his rookie form, there is enough in the offense to be able to move the ball, which would put Forbath in position to put up fantasy points.

Fantasy Downside
It's a bit risky right now to think the above is going to happen and this will be a high-flying offense. The team will need to run the ball to take pressure off RG3 and there is no indication the Skins want to get in a shootout with anyone. That's not always the type of offense you want your fantasy kicker to be a part of.

Bottom Line
Forbath's ranking of 27th on our kicker list certainly indicates we don't think he's going to be in a position to put up consistent fantasy points on a week-to-week. There are much better options than Forbath on your draft board.

WAS K Kai Forbath - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 - Forbath vs. Dallas
Kai Forbath kicked two field goals and added three extra points last week as the Skins beat the Eagles. Forbath has connected on eight-straight after going 0-for-2 in Week 11. The Cowboys are another tough matchup and right near the top of the league in terms of allowing fantasy points to kickers. There are probably better options, but Washington could see some time against Dallas backups in this contest, which could give Forbath a little boost.

WAS K Kai Forbath - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 - Forbath vs. Philly
Kai Forbath kicked two field goals last week and added an extra point. It was a pretty good matchup for Forbath, who has kicked two fields in three of the last four weeks (the Skins were shutout vs. the Rams in Week 14). This week's matchup is a tough one on paper as the Eagles are second in allowing fantasy points to kickers. Forbath is way down our list on what is a risky offense anyway, and it doesn't shape up to be a good matchup this week. Forbath was 2-for-3 the last time these teams met in Week 3, and his miss was a key one later in the game.

WAS K Kai Forbath - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 - Forbath vs. NY Giants
We knew coming into last week that Kai Forbath just wasn't a good kicking option and that held true was the Skins were shutout against the Rams. This week, the matchup against the Giants is at least a little more favorable as the G-men are 20th in allowing fantasy points to kickers. Forbath still comes with risks as the Washington QB situation is pretty much up in the air. There are better options than Forbath.

WAS K Kai Forbath - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 - Forbath vs. St. Louis
Kai Forbath actually had a pretty solid fantasy outing last week despite the Colts ranking second in allowing fantasy points to kickers. Forbath booted two field goals and three extra points before the Colts pulled away in this one. It's been part of a very tough stretch for Forbath with lots of red on his SOS. It continues this week with the Rams who rank third. Forbath is way down our list as a result. Despite being 4-for-4 the last two weeks against top-five opponents, there are safer options.

WAS K Kai Forbath - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 - Forbath vs. Indy
Kai Forbath booted two field goals last week and added an extra point against the Niners. He remains an unsafe option this week and you'll find him buried down our list of kickers. The Colts also present a tough matchup as teams find themselves needing touchdowns as opposed to field goals going against the Colts high-powered offense. Best to stay away from Forbath.
