Scouting report

LAC WR Joshua Palmer - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Josh Palmer is outside of the top-50 wide receivers this week, but could be considered if you're desperate. The Bengals are 27th aFPA against wide receivers, so the matchup is fantastic. You're hoping the touchdown variance lands on him, but there are worse darts to throw if desperate.

LAC WR Joshua Palmer - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Tennessee Titans

With the targets so spread out by Justin Herbert, it's a little hard to trust Joshua Palmer week-to-week. He's third in the pecking order for targets and with so many mouths to feed being that far down makes things tough.

Palmer faces a Titans defense that is 3rd aFPA against receivers this year. A tough matchup combined with the spread-out offense makes Palmer really hard to trust this week. He's a flex option if you're desperate, but you can likely do better.

LAC WR Joshua Palmer - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Cleveland Browns

Joshua Palmer isn't in the top 50 receivers this week, but with a beatable matchup, he's worthy of flex consideration if you're desperate. He's more of a deep-play threat this year with Ladd McConkey working in the short and intermediate area. Palmer is a desperation flex play this week.

LAC WR Joshua Palmer - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs New Orleans Saints

Without Quentin Johnston, the Chargers passing game was a bit more condensed last week. Even still, Joshua Palmer was still fourth in targets (5) behind Will Dissly (11), Ladd McConkey (7), and Simi Fehoko (6).

It will be interesting to see if Fehoko is still ahead of Palmer moving forward. The Saints are 14th aFPA against wide receivers so the matchup isn't as easy as last week, but it isn't impossible. Palmer is outside of the top-50 wide receivers this week and with no on bye you're likely only playing him in deeper formats.

LAC WR Joshua Palmer - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Arizona Cardinals

With injuries mounting up around Joshua Palmer, he moves into a desperation flex consideration with Quentin Johnston doubtful and Ladd McConkey banged up. He's likely only viable in leagues where you had Johnston and needed to add someone when he's ruled out.

LAC WR Joshua Palmer - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Carolina Panthers

After logging limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, Palmer went DNP on Friday and was listed questionable. Usually that sort of practice progression doesn't work out well on Sunday's so stay tuned to inactives on Sunday morning.

If Palmer does play, he's a desperation flex play in a low-volume Chargers passing attack in a game he's unlikely to be fully healthy in.

LAC WR Joshua Palmer - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

With the loss of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, the target competition got a whole lot easier for Joshua Palmer in 2024. While Palmer still has Justin Herbert throwing him the ball, the offense is led by former Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman who leans run heavy.

Palmer and Ladd McConkey should lead the Chargers in receiving and be Herbert's favorite targets this fall. Will that be good enough for fantasy? It's unlikely both are able to be consistent fantasy producers, but the matchup against the Raiders isn't daunting and Palmer could get loose for a deep ball or two. He's more of a flex option rather than a WR3 this week.
