Scouting report

BUF QB Josh Allen - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Cincinnati Bengals
Josh Allen threw for 324 yards last week and for the fourth straight game, he threw two touchdown passes. He also has rushed for a touchdown in three of those four games. However, he has also thrown an interception in each game. So, Allen overall has been pretty good except for the turnovers.

Allen will face the Bengals who are ranked 19th in aFPA to quarterbacks. He struggled in the playoff game last season against Cincy as he did not throw a touchdown pass and did throw one pick.

Start Allen as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 9. Despite a road game, this is a decent matchup for Allen and he should continue to put up similar numbers that has done over the last four months.

BUF QB Josh Allen - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Josh Allen is taking a lot of heat for the Bills loss to the Patriots, but his fantasy numbers were still good. He completed 66% of his passes, threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another. He did throw one interception.

It's a short week for Buffalo who will host the Buccaneers. Tampa is ranked fifth in aFPA to quarterbacks. Allen has had an up and down season, but his fantasy value is still high.

Start Allen as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 8. We don't expect huge numbers as offenses struggle on Thursdays, but he will put up enough numbers to help managers win their matchups this week.

BUF QB Josh Allen - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New England Patriots
Josh Allen had been on fire, but cooled off last week with some of his worst numbers in 2023. He threw for only 169 yards although he did throw two touchdown passes. He also added his sixth interception and was held to 11 rushing yards. The Bills did win the game, but the fantasy numbers were subpar.

Allen will face the division-rival Patriots for the first time this season. New England is ranked 7th in aFPA to quarterbacks. In the two meetings last season, Allen averaged 238 passing yards and totaled five passing touchdowns. He was limited on the ground in both games.

Start Allen as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 7. Even though New England's defense does pose challenge, the Pats aren't playing good football and Allen should get good fantasy numbers including touchdowns and yardage.

BUF QB Josh Allen - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. New York Giants
It was not a good day for the Bills in London, but Josh Allen still had strong numbers. He threw for a season-high 359 yards and added two touchdowns. He didn't have great rushing numbers but did score a rushing touchdown. He did throw his fifth interception of the season.

Allen will face the Giants on Sunday who are ranked 17th in aFPA to quarterbacks. He has continued to put up very good fantasy numbers since Week 1 and we don't expect that to change this week.

Start Allen as the top fantasy quarterback for Week 6. The Giants are a mess right now and the Bills will be on a mission after losing last week. Expect plenty of points by Buffalo and the fantasy stats that usually accompany it.

BUF QB Josh Allen - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (London)
Since Week 1, Josh Allen has been the best quarterback in the NFL and the No. 1 fantasy quarterback as well. Last week, he threw for 320 yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He added a rushing touchdown. Allen now how has 8 touchdown passes, 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 interception the last three games while averaging 37 points per game.

The Bills face the Jaguars who are ranked 14th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Allen should keep it rolling in London against a team whose pass defense is average.

Start Allen as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 5. Nobody is playing as good as him right now and there is no reason to think he will not continue to put up big numbers.

BUF QB Josh Allen - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Miami Dolphins
Josh Allen had a decent game last week throwing for 218 yards and a touchdown. He rushed a season-high 46 yards and his first touchdown on the ground this season. Allen has stayed away from the turnovers that plagued him Week 1 and although he is not playing at the highest level, his numbers are acceptable at this point.

Allen faces the Dolphins who are ranked 6th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Last season, he threw for 400 and 302 yards in the two regular season games against the Fins and added six touchdown passes. In the playoffs, he threw for 352 yards and three more touchdowns.

Start Allen as one of the top fantasy quarterbacks for Week 4. We like his history against Miami and he has played good the last two weeks so that poor performance in the opener hasn't phased him.

BUF QB Josh Allen - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Washington Commanders
Josh Allen bounced back with a good outing last Sunday against the Raiders. He completed 84% of his passes for 274 yards and three touchdown passes. The better news was zero turnovers. The only negative was that he only rushed for seven yards, which is low for Allen.

Next up is the surprising Commanders. Washington's defense has been better this season and will be a formidable challenge for Buffalo on the road.

Once again, Allen ranks as a top-five fantasy quarterback and should be in your starting lineup. We don't expect as many passing yards as last week, but we do expect the rushing yards to go back over 30 yards.
