Scouting report

CLE RB Jerome Ford - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. New York Jets

Jerome Ford did score his first touchdown since Week 11 in the win over the Texans in Week 16. However, with Amari Cooper exploding for 265 yards, the Browns’ run game didn't amount to much and Ford was limited to just 25 yards on 15 carries. The Jets have been a favorable matchup at times against the run but Ford is still limited in fantasy as he continues to share work with Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong. Ford is a Flex option at best for the fantasy finals.

CLE RB Jerome Ford - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Houston Texans

The Browns being down in the second half, plus the presence of Kareem Hunt, may have led to another limited performance by Jerome Ford but the early momentum for him seems to have worn off. Ford has three games in his last four with single-digit rushing attempts, but he does have at least three catches in four straight games. That's what's separating him from Hunt still and makes him a borderline RB2 for the week, but this is almost a true committee in Cleveland.

CLE RB Jerome Ford - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Chicago Bears

A wrist injury may have limited Jerome Ford last week against the Jaguars but he still managed 82 total yards on 17 touches. He has scored in double figures six straight weeks and eight out of nine games since the bye week. Even with Kareem Hunt still floating around, Ford is still a respectable option heading into the fantasy playoffs.

CLE RB Jerome Ford - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

It wasn't the best day on the ground for Jerome Ford against the Rams -- just 19 yards on nine attempts -- but it was another day with multiple receptions and he scored his sixth touchdown of the season (3 rushing, 3 receiving). The backfield has almost become a split between Ford and Kareem Hunt. The Jaguars have been solid against the run. Ford is a flex play this week.

CLE RB Jerome Ford - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Los Angeles Rams

Cleveland struggled on offense as a whole last week against Denver, so Jerome Ford was limited to just nine carries. He did go 65 yards with those carries, a 7.2 average. The Rams provide a good matchup for Ford and they should stick around in this game a little more than last week, so the hope is Ford sees more opportunities this week. He remains an RB2 for the week, even with splitting time with Kareem Hunt.

CLE RB Jerome Ford - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Denver Broncos

The Steelers did a much better job containing Jerome Ford this time around, holding him to just 31 yards, though Ford did score a touchdown. Ford actually has a favorable matchup this week against the Broncos, but Cleveland has also kept Kareem Hunt in the mix as well. That will limit Ford's fantasy potential, but there's still enough him to make him a borderline RB2 this week.

CLE RB Jerome Ford - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Jerome Ford has taken back control of the backfield in Cleveland and the Browns may start leaning on him even more now that they won't have Deshaun Watson again this season. Ford scored his second 100-yard rushing game last week against the Ravens. His first? Week 2 against the Steelers, the team he sees this week. Kareem Hunt will still get work, but Ford is the guy again in Cleveland and should make for a nice RB2 again this week.
