Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (hip) did not practice Wednesday. The injury isn’t considered to be serious, but we’ll monitor his practice activity this week. If he can’t play, Jeremy Hill would be a very good start against the Jaguars. The Bengals play early on Sunday.

Giovani Bernard injures right hip, not considered serious

Bengals RB Giovani Bernard suffered a right hip injury.

Fantasy Impact:

Bernard never returned to the game. But, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Monday the injury is not considered serious. We'll continue to monitor the injury this week, but owners of Bernard may want to think about grabbing Jeremy Hill if he's on your waiver wire. The Bengals have a great matchup at home against the Jags in Week 9.

Jermaine Gresham

Marvin Jones (ankle) could need surgery

There is also the unknown about when WR Marvin Jones (ankle) is going to return. As in, there is no time frame and there is some talk that the Bengals may think about surgery for Jones.

Fantasy Impact:

Things are now not looking good for Jones who was supposed to be back Week 5 and was one of our 2014 sleepers. With A.J. Green also out, Mohamed Sanu is now the clear WR1 and is coming off a monster game in Week 6. It's also good news for TE Jermaine Gresham and RBs Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill. Gresham had six catches in Week 6. Bernard could see more work in the passing game with Hill spelling him for some carries.

A.J. Green

Marvin Jones officially OUT for Week 6

Marvin Jones might have been listed as questionable on the Cincinnati Bengals' injury report, but he won't play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

The receiver was downgraded to out ahead of Sunday's game.

It's not a surprise in the least that Jones won't see action, as the wideout has missed practice this entire week with an ankle injury. Jones hasn't seen the field this season after suffering a foot injury back in August.

Fantasy Impact:

The Bengals will be without two dynamic receivers. A.J. Green is "day to day" after wearing a walking boot Friday and is not expected to play Sunday. Mohamed Sanu will be Andy Dalton's No. 1 target Sunday. Sanu is tied for the team lead in receptions (17) to go along with 234 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Look for the Bengals to also use a lot of RBs Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill. Bernard could see a lot more time in the passing game.
