Rams TE Tyler Higbee (chest, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 3. With Higbee out, Gerald Everett could be an every down player for the Rams. In 2018, Rams' tight ends combined for 3.6 catches for 39 yards and 0.31 touchdowns which is decent production for those owners looking for TE help.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee suffers injury to his lung

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee left Sunday's win over the New Orleans Saints with a chest injury, which turned out to be much more severe than initially thought. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Higbee's chest injury turned out to be an injury to his lung that caused him to cough up blood. Despite the gruesome status of his internal organ, Higbee isn't expected to miss much time.

Fantasy Impact: 

Higbee was admitted to the hospital as a precaution. Higbee left the game in the second quarter, but never went into the locker room, the story added. With Higbee out, Everett should benefit from more time and possibly more targets.

Another extension for the Rams, who reach agreement with TE Tyler Higbee on a 4-year deal that ties him to the team through 2023 season.

Fantasy Impact: 

The deal makes him a top-10 paid TE in the NFL, but Higbee comes in just 43rd on our TE list. Meanwhile Everett finished the fantasy regular season with three straight games of 6+ targets and played 59% of the snaps in the last month after playing at a 26% rate during the first 12 games. He played 58% of the snaps in the team’s three postseason games as well, so that playing time trend continued throughout the playoffs. He didn’t have much production to show for it, but he has all the physical tools (4.62 40-yard dash, other elite measurables for the position) to emerge as a viable fantasy TE1 if Todd McVay decides to use him.

Fantasy Impact: 

There has been plenty of hype around Gerald Everett's performance this offseason at OTAs and minicamp. He's shown a heightened physical prowess and heading into his third year, could see an uptick in work with the Rams in 2019. If he can continue to separate himself from Tyler Higbee, Everett could be a steal at his current 19th-round ADP.
