Scouting report

LV TE Foster Moreau - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Indianapolis Colts

Foster Moreau had four catches for 67 yards last week against the Broncos. He’s been receiving steady targets with Darren Waller out, so if Waller continues to miss time, Moreau is a viable streaming option at the barren wasteland that is the tight end position in fantasy.

This week, Moreau faces a Colts defense that ranks 29th in aFPA to opposing tight ends. Moreau isn’t a sure-fire starter, but if you need help at the position, he’s worth considering in a good matchup. Watch the status of Waller carefully to be sure he’s not active, but if Moreau starts, he has a good chance at repeating what he did last week. That’s fringe-starting numbers at the tight end position.

LV TE Foster Moreau - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Denver Broncos

It’s starting to feel like we won’t see Darren Waller again this season, so Foster Moreau should continue to be the primary tight end in this offense. He had a nice game against the Browns on Monday night, catching seven of his nine targets for 65 yards. Moreau has potential based on a dearth of pass-catching options in Las Vegas, but he’s been too unreliable to start. Against a tough Broncos defense that ranks first in aFPA to opposing tight ends, we have him ranked outside of starting range and he should stay on waivers in most leagues.

LV TE Foster Moreau - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Cleveland Browns

Foster Moreau had three receptions on six targets for 13 yards against the Chiefs last week, and he caused the interception Derek Carr threw in the first quarter. He has interesting potential with increased targets while Darren Waller is out, but with single-digit fantasy points the last two weeks – sans Waller – it’s hard to trust him.

LV TE Foster Moreau - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Kansas City Chiefs

Foster Moreau had just one catch for 34 yards last week against Washington, though he did see three targets. With Darren Waller iffy for this week against the Chiefs, Moreau has upside in a nice matchup. Kansas City ranks 27th in aFPA to opposing tight ends, and has been much better at stopping receivers. If Waller is out again, consider Moreau a decent streaming, backup option for needy managers.

Update: With Waller out, Moreau is a viable backup plan.

LV TE Foster Moreau - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Washington Football Team

With Darren Waller week-to-week with a knee injury, Foster Moreau becomes a viable streaming option. He’s been productive at times in the past when given opportunities, including six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown against Philadelphia in late October.

This week, Moreau faces a Washington defense that ranks 22nd in aFPA to opposing tight ends. In a nice matchup with added opportunity and at a position with a dearth of options, we have Moreau ranked as a sneaky fringe TE1 option, and fantasy managers looking for help at the position should prioritize picking him up for a last-minute push toward the playoffs.
