SEA WR DK Metcalf - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs Titans

Russ cooking means DK Metcalf will always have the chance to cook. That included a touchdown grab against the Colts and tied with Tyler Lockett for the most targets in Week 1 with five. Not much you need to say about Metcalf. When he and Russ are on, they are on.

SEA WR DK Metcalf - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Colts

DK Metcalf is back and looking to build on his 83/1303/10 line from 2020. It will be interesting to watch if the Colts let Rock Ya-Sin travel with Metcalf, especially if Xavier Rhodes can't go Sunday. Regardless, Metcalf is a top-ten option this week regardless of if he faces Ya-Sin or Rhodes or TJ Carrie.

SEA WR DK Metcalf - 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

DK Metcalf showed in the first half of 2020 just how dominant he can be. In seven of his first eight games, he had at least six catches and 90 yards, with four games in that stretch of over 100 yards. The only cornerbacks that had any real success against Metcalf were Jalen Ramsey and Patrick Peterson. He still faces those two corners, but in one less game, now that Peterson is in Minnesota. It's the ever-popular third year for Metcalf as he goes for another 1,300-yard (or more) season.

Fantasy Downside

As Seattle focused more on the run in 2020, the passing attack dipped in the second half and Metcalf's numbers went down as a result. He had just two touchdowns in the last eight games and four games with under 50 yards. The hope is Seattle gets the passing game active again with Shane Waldron replacing Brian Schottenheimer as offensive coordinator. And Metcalf sees the aforementioned Ramsey and Peterson within the first five weeks of 2021.

2021 Bottom Line

This is still DK Metcalf we're talking about, a bona fide stud on the field and surefire top-10 receiver, arguably top five in fantasy. Grab him in the late second or early third if he happens to fall there.

SEA WR DK Metcalf - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs 49ers

The Jets have cooled off a bit for Metcalf. He hasn’t reached 100 yards since Week 12 and has just one touchdown in his last five games. But with home-field on the line this week, Seattle would want to get their best receiver back in the game plan as much as possible. Fortunately, recent history in this series is well on Metcalf’s side. He had 12 catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns in Week 8 and has three touchdowns in the last two games against the 49ers. He did better against the Rams last week than he did the first time, which is a good sign for his momentum hopefully picking back up.

SEA WR DK Metcalf - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs Rams

Metcalf was held in check last week in Washington for his first single-digit PPR performance since Week 10...which just happened to be against the Rams. You know, just like round one, Jalen Ramsey is going to be all over Metcalf. Metcalf is still a WR1 for the fantasy finals, but you know what you're up against.

SEA WR DK Metcalf - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Washington

Is there really a reason not to start DK at this point? He's second in the league in receiving yards and has ten touchdowns. Seven receivers have hit at least 80 yards against Washington this season, two have reached 100 yards. And again, it's DK Metcalf.

SEA WR DK Metcalf - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs Jets

DK Metcalf must be salivating at this matchup, going up against the 31st-ranked defense. He also just watched Henry Ruggs burn the defense to send the Jets to 0-12. Pretty good chance Metcalf reaches double-digit touchdowns this week as Seattle tries to keep pace in the NFC West.
