Draft Note by John Paulsen
Hopkins will miss the first six games of the season due to a PED suspension. He’s coming off of a torn MCL in Week 14 of last season, but should be fully healthy for camp. However, he just turned 30 and is coming off of his least productive season (on a per-game basis) since his rookie year. He only averaged 4.2 catches for 57.2 yards per game, which is a far cry from the 7.2 catches and 87.9 yards per game he averaged in the previous season. He did catch eight touchdowns, so that’s something. His 12.6 points per game (half-PPR) was the 17th-highest among receivers, so it’s not like he completely fell off of a cliff. He should return to a significant role, but Marquise Brown has replaced Christian Kirk, so Hopkins is unlikely to return to the 10+ target role that he had from 2017 to 2020.
