The Raiders and TE Darren Waller reached agreement on a 3-year extension worth $51 million.

Fantasy Impact:

Waller is now tied to the Raiders for five years. He still had two years left on his desk but wanted more financial and long-term security at 30 years old. He now has that. Walker checks in as our No. 4 tight end for Week 1 against the Chargers.

Standout tight end Darren Waller is planning to play Sunday when the Raiders open the season at the Los Angeles Chargers.

Fantasy Impact:

Waller, who returned to practice last week after dealing with a hamstring injury in training camp or perhaps sitting out as a negotiating ploy for a new contract, made that clear Tuesday, the story said. Waller did say the hamstring issues were real so that could be something for fantasy owners to keep an eye on.

Waller is dealing with a hamstring injury, but is also trying to get a new contract from the Raiders with new agent Drew Rosenhaus. Some are now speculating the two were related and a deal could be announced soon.

Josh McDaniels said he didn't feel comfortable making a prediction about Darren Waller's status for the Raiders regular-season opener against the Chargers.

The tweet also said McDaniels isn't concerned about the absence of Waller overall, but there appears to be some doubt about Week 1. Waller returned to practice recently but is now dealing with a hamstring. Hopefully it's all precautionary but it's something owners will need to watch.
