Scouting report

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Dallas Cowboys

Daniel Jones had a nice fantasy day in a loss to the Lions last week, throwing for 341 yards and a touchdown. He also threw a pair of interceptions, but made up for it by rushing for 50 yards and a score. It’s going to be a tough matchup this week for Jones, as the Cowboys rank second in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks and just shut down the Minnesota offense. Jones has some upside with his rushing production in any given week, but with a full slate of games on the schedule, there should be better options available than Jones against Micah Parsons and company.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Detroit Lions

Daniel Jones turned in a solid performance last week in a win over the Texans, completing 76.5% of his passes on his way to 197 yards and a pair of touchdowns. It was just his third game this season with multiple passing touchdowns and he still has just two interceptions on the year. Jones also added 24 yards on five rushing attempts.

This week, Jones faces a Lions defense that ranks 31st in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect solid numbers once again from Danny Dimes in a great matchup and we have him ranked as a fringe top-10 quarterback for fantasy managers this week.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Houston Texans

Daniel Jones struggled against the Seahawks before the bye last week, throwing for 176 yards and adding only 20 yards on the ground – his second-lowest this season. Jones has been fairly efficient this year with nine touchdowns, including three rushing, and only two interceptions. He’s averaging a mere 174.9 passing yards per game, but has 363 rushing yards on the season and has the Giants out to a 6-2 record.

This isn’t a good matchup for Jones on the surface, as Houston ranks sixth in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this year. However, as Chris Allen pointed out in his streaming article this week, “Jones is fourth in rushing yards on designed runs among all quarterbacks.” Houston is awful against the run and Jones’ upside as a rusher makes him worth streaming consideration this week.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Seattle Seahawks

Daniel Jones had a great game last week, throwing for 202 yards and a touchdown and adding 107 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Jones has only one game this year with less than 20 rushing yards and he only has two interceptions with zero fumbles. He’s not lighting up the scoreboard – six passing touchdowns on the season – but he’s getting enough rushing production to stay relevant, and the Giants are winning.

Jones has a nice matchup this week against a Seahawks defense that ranks 26th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expecting a repeat performance of last week is a lot to ask for, but in a good matchup with two of the top fantasy quarterbacks both on bye this week, he’s an excellent streaming option and we have him ranked inside our top 10.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Daniel Jones had 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a victory over the Ravens last week. Jones also didn’t throw a pick and now has just two interceptions and zero fumbles on the season. His numbers aren’t eye-popping, but he’s playing efficiently and carefully, completing a career-high 67.3% of his passes, despite having serious injury and consistency issues at wide receiver.

Jones has streaming upside during some key quarterback byes this week. He faces a Jaguars defense that ranks 12th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, but allowed big numbers to Matt Ryan last week. With options at the position limited and Jones’ ability to add rushing production to his totals, fantasy managers could do worse than pick up Jones for a one-week rental. We have him projected for fringe-QB1 numbers against the Jaguars.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Daniel Jones hasn’t lit the world on fire, statistically, but the Giants are 4-1 and Jones is quietly the QB14 in fantasy. He’s had at least 21 rushing yards in each game, helping bring up his blah passing totals. Last week, he had 217 passing yards and 37 rushing yards in a victory over the Packers.

Jones has some serious streaming upside this week against a Ravens defense that ranks 27th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect a potential shootout as the Giants try to keep up with the Baltimore offense and for Jones to finish just outside of QB1 numbers. We have him ranked as a fringe option, or solid QB2 this week.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Chicago Bears

Daniel Jones struggled throwing the ball Monday night against the Cowboys, finishing with just 196 yards and a pick. He salvaged his fantasy day with 79 yards on nine rushing attempts, but it’s hard to count on that kind of production week-to-week.

This week, Jones faces a Bears defense that forced two interceptions out of Davis Mills last week, but was surgically dismantled by an efficient Aaron Rodgers in Week 2. Jones is more the former, so expect another rough day. Sit him.
