NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Last week was ugly for Daniel Jones and the rest of the Giants offense. Jones ended up with just 167 yards, a touchdown and a pair of interceptions as the Buccaneers destroyed New York 30-10. Jones now has just nine touchdowns and seven interceptions this season and he’s only gone over 20 rushing yards once in his past six games.

This week, Jones faces an Eagles defense that ranks 20th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. It’s a nice matchup in theory, but Jones has been so bad this season, it’s hard to trust him. There may be a small coordinator bump as Jason Garrett was replaced by Freddie Kitchens this week, but Jones is still too risky to start. Sit him.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Daniel Jones had 110 yards and a touchdown, along with 17 yards rushing against the Raiders before the bye last week. Jones has the Giants playing competitive ball the past few weeks, but he’s not scoring much in the fantasy department. His rushing production hasn’t been enough to compensate for his measly eight touchdowns this season, making it hard to recommend starting him on a weekly basis.

This week, Jones faces a Buccaneers defense that ranks 20th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Jones has upside in a decent matchup, but he’s really only worth consideration as a QB2 option, given his volatility. Look to him with caution in deep leagues that start two passers, but leave him on waivers in 1QB formats.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Daniel Jones had a modest 222 yards and two touchdowns with a pick last week against the Chiefs, adding 12 yards on five carries. Jones has been serviceable at times this season, particularly as an injury replacement or streaming option, but he hasn’t put up significant rushing totals since Week 2. Keep an eye on that development, as Jones loses significant upside without rushing production.

This week, Jones faces a Raiders defense that ranks 17th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. He’s once again worthy of consideration as a streamer for fantasy managers with bye week or injury concerns, but we have him ranked as a fringe QB1 option. Use him if you have to.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Kansas City Chiefs

Daniel Jones threw for 203 yards and a touchdown last week, adding eight carries for 28 rushing yards in a rare blowout win for the Giants over the Panthers. Jones’ rushing totals have been down as of late, but the eight carries is a good sign for fantasy managers looking to add some upside to the position.

This week, Jones faces a struggling Chiefs defense that ranks 29th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. With his rushing ability and the horrible play by the Chiefs defense this season, Jones is a viable streaming option and we have him ranked as a fringe starter this week.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Carolina Panthers

Daniel Jones didn’t miss a game following a nasty-looking concussion in Week 5, but he looked shaky against the Rams on Sunday. He threw for 242 yards and three interceptions and had only four rushing yards on three attempts. The Rams destroyed the Giants, 38-11, and Jones was sacked four times on the day. The Giants are now 1-5 and continue to suffer injuries to Jones’ weapons. Even though there’s upside against a Panthers defense that struggled last week against Kirk Cousins, it’s too risky to put Jones in fantasy lineups outside of deep, 2QB formats. Sit him.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Dallas Cowboys

Daniel Jones had a great week against the Saints last week in a surprise Giants victory. He threw for 402 yards, a pair of touchdowns and a pick and added 27 yards on the ground. Jones now has 188 yards rushing and is the QB6 in total fantasy points so far this season. The Giants' offense looks like it’s on the upswing, and Jones’ rushing makes him a viable streaming option at least for fantasy managers needing help at the position.

This week, Jones faces a surprisingly strong Cowboys defense that ranks 16th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect the Cowboys to get out ahead early, forcing Jones to throw the ball, making him a viable starting option. We have him as a fringe QB1 option this week.

NYG QB Daniel Jones - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at New Orleans Saints

Daniel Jones was disappointing last week in what should’ve been an easy matchup against the Falcons. He ended up with 266 yards passing and 39 yards rushing but didn’t score a touchdown in either facet of the game and he fumbled twice. The 39 yards rushing brings his total to 161 on the season, which makes him fantasy-relevant. However, it’s hard to trust him in 1QB leagues and fantasy managers should look elsewhere if possible. He has a tough matchup against the Saints this week, who shut down Aaron Rodgers in Week 1 and then forced three interceptions against the Patriots last week. Sit him.
