Latavius Murray

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook OUT for Week 7

CBS Sports

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook appeared ready to return to action when he practiced in full on Wednesday, but things quickly turned south, with Cook missing Thursday and Friday practices and being ruled out on Friday. That leaves Latavius Murray to again shoulder the load, this time against the Jets one week after going for 155 yards on 24 carries and scoring a touchdown.

Fantasy Impact:

Murray really got going last week and now finds himself with a winnable matchup against the Jets defense. He is slotted in as our number 15 running back, which may be conservative if the Vikings get up big early and work the clock in the second half.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) missed practice Thursday after full reps Wednesday. Cook was initially reported as a full participant but the DNP is official, so he’s suddenly no longer on track to play in Week 7. If he’s out, Latavius Murray would once again carry the load as a fantasy RB2.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook left Thursday's practice, officially a DNP

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, who has missed three of the past four games with a hamstring strain, did not practice Thursday after being a full participant Wednesday. Cook dressed out but left practice during the portion open to the media.

Fantasy Impact:

After getting in a full practice Wednesday, we can only assume Cook suffered a setback sometime today. It's a frustrating situation that the Vikings should have avoided by resting the young star in the first place, but here we are. If Cook is healthy and plays, he is an RB1. If not, Latavius Murray is an RB2. Check back Friday for updates.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) practiced fully Wednesday. It looks like Cook is on track to play in Week 7. He’ll have a decent matchup with the Jets.
